Glad to hear this. I wasn't completely sure about using that reference.

I actually left it out for the same reason - to me the apostrophe emphasized the separation that would lead to the other word. But I should have thought of capitalizing.

I've sent the next set of comics, though I don't know when it will be convenient for Mave to upload them. In the future I'm going to honestly try to update on time.

This isn't a hilarious set, more setting up for future comics (and one of my favorite punchlines in the entire comic). It is also the one where I hopefully make up for all the JAMEs.

Thank you both.

Actually, you're one of the first to ask. Unfortunately, I have every comic in the series already created. So unless I throw in some random things there isn't an opportunity for any cameos.

You don't have to if you don't want to. Mithy has pretty tough skin (and realistic stomping action!)

Hey, UC. Can I make a request? Can you list the comic numbers when you post like this? The "New" part is good, but I tend to forget which ones I've seen. If you were to say, "Posts 43, 44 and 45 are going up" it would make it easier for me to find my place.

Just a though.

Thank you. I do try to pay attention small things, such as making weapons and people decompose instead of just disappear (for the most part).

Don't worry, I'm not doing this to avoid hurting your feelings (wait, that's a dubious reassurance...). This has been in my plans since the instant I chose the old guy as your sprite.

Somebody has to quote that.

Just out of curiosity, is this "Developement" a reference to some kind of established running joke?

Yes, it is. You'll occasionally notice posts by an administrator-class member known as development. Because this was never explained (and many moderators refused to do more than make cryptic comments or deny the existance of such a member) there have been a number of jokes about "development" being the mystery moderator who is actually in charge of CAA.

However, as of the making of this comic, development was actually just the account Mithrandir used for administrative issues (this was before becoming a moderator permanently). It is currently also used by other moderators when they need to do something in an administrative sense, but Mithrandir has made most of its posts so I still view him as the "owner" of the name.

Page 51, 52 and 53 up, folks.

Bsleepj, the development joke isn't exactly recent so I wouldn't expect every member to be familiar with it. Thanks for asking. ^^

It also depends which threads you frequent. I almost didn't look at the original "Day in the Life of CAA" thread. Similarly, there are a number of things I have missed because I mostly stay out of the Goof Off forum.

As for the recent updates... comic #51 is one of my favorite combat sequences, I hope it is easily understandable. Comic #53 begins the longest fight of the series, but it is one of the better ones. There really isn't anything in the way of humor, as this is pretty much the climax. You'll also have to wait a bit for the development bit...

By the way, I've sent the files for #54-56. This is a good set, in my opinion. It moves the plot along, ends a fight, and includes one of my favorite comics in this entire series. The end is coming...

Thank you for updating, Mave. Just a few more left.

Mithrandir wrote:For some reason I hear the last panel of 53 in 8k "Gauntlet Sound."

I don't think I understand what you mean by that. 8k as in 8 kilobytes? Gauntlet as in "Yellow wizard needs food badly"?

8k was just the "sound depth" and indicates very poor quality. And yes, that was in the style of "Guantlet's First Rule: Do not shoot food!"

I've played the console version of that game... it seems as though it would be nearly impossible to make it all the way through. Perhaps if you had a Warrior to kill things and a Rogue to run around and grab things, but I was never able to grab enough food to negate the constant life drain.

Meanwhile, the next set of comics are up, though you'll have to change the urls because the links are wrong. Too excited again, evidentally.
