New Anime Series

Postby Soukoru » Wed Feb 08, 2006 8:59 am

Here are a few new anime series that I have come across. Many of them don't have licenses yet so torrenting would be ok. (I think)
Anyways, here they are:

Mahou Sensei Negima
Grenadier
Shuffle!
Canvas 2
Hellsing OVA

The last one mentioned (Hellsing OVA) will hopefully be subbed soon, but the first episode just came out a while ago (at least, I got it off a friend though). Follows the Hellsing manga exactly.
I will leave comments out for the other anime series until asked.

I don't want to be picking but shouldn't this be moved to the Anime board?

Yes, you would be correct.

Soukoru, I know, at first, it can be kind of hard to find the right forum for your threads, but just try to look around before making a new thread. Don't worry about it this time. It's a mistake most people make atleast once. :P
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Dang, Osaka, you really shouldn't be so rough on these newbies O_O!

And for the record, the first episode of Hellsing Ultimate hasn't been released yet. What you have is the 30-minute preview. The full episode is supposed to be between 40 and 50 minutes, or so I hear. It comes out sometime this month.

Negima and Grenadier are licensed actually (all of grenadier has been released too, but the show is terrible).
Apparently Negima dropped a number of events as well as shortened many from the manga, and then after episode 20 it started to deviate heavily.

Negima has been liscened by Funimation and Grenadier is liscened by AnimeWorks. For Negima, since I enjoy the series, I have heard some pretty good voice actors have been chosen. I use to hate the fact that Funi got Negima but it's starting to look pretty good.

It's alot like how the Love Hina manga and anime was like. There were many similarities but it totally deviated from the path at the end.

MAJOR SPOILER!!!!! AGAIN< MAGOR SPOILER!!!!
Apparently, Asuna dies in the end of the Negima anime. I heard that on a site dedicated to Negima in which was on alot of the other sites when the last episode was aired.
hm....grenadier. wasn't that the anime with the excessively busted female character? XD *goes to look it up*

yup..taht's the one. i recommend avoiding it. you're an 18 year old guy...dont trip yourself up. too much fanservice/semi-nudity.

(sidenote: this is personal opinion 'cause i've only seen part of an episode, but that along with screenshots was enough to convince me of the above opinion)
Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty.

I watched the trailor and I was a bit surprised as well. While fan service does not affect me; big-breasted women anime is extremely tacky and overdone not to mention very unrealistic.
