So yeah...who else is gonna go see it?
I luved the first movie....and from what I've seen as far as clips I'm gonna luv the second movie as well. The creature designs they did for Marcus are very very very very nice!

And the thing I luv the most about the first movie...they got into the world of Vampires and Werewolves without all the occultic practices and spells and nonsense, and just kept the monsters only that, monsters. The only thing that lemme down was that the Vampires didn't change, all they could do is hiss while the big bad wolf was chowin' down...UE actually has a Vampire transformation, and it looks great.

Watch out for that full moon!

Yes I'm gonna go see this movie....I've been waiting very impatiently since the first one hit theatres.

Can't WAIT any longer, so glad it'll be out soon. Coolest thing (IMO) about the first one, other than the very important point Archan brought up, were the amazing contacts Kate Beckinsale got to wear....those unearthly blue ones that went really bright when she did her job.

Sooooo cool!

I also am really looking forward to this movie. I loved the first one. Her building jump, into a casual stride step was awesome.

Yeah, in fact I see a bunch of Billboards of Kate and those mesmerizing eyes all over town and you know what.....I'm not complaining  She is quite the hottie, how come she wasn't this groovey in Van Helsing?

I think they changed the Werewolf designs though, they look more hairy and the face is more canine...longer muzzle. It still looks good though.

I wanted to see it when I first heard of it, but then I saw the commercial...it looks a bit over the line in terms of fanservice. At least, for me.

*Laughs*
Too funny....

This sequel does seem to have more mature scenes....I have to check out the rating. Regardless.....it still looks good, story and effects wise. As far as fan service, I think Kate is hot but not this much, so I wont be bothered, however if it is rated "R" then I would advise only the very very very mature see it.

I'd love to go see it, but my main problem is the same as Duckie's... I have no interest in sex scenes... Mild nudity/brief shots... okay... but blatant scenes just ruin the movie... Actually, any sex/nudity ruins the movie, we can only hope it's brief...

Yeah, I understand whole heartedly...
I am hoping that if this movie is rated "R", it's because of the violence and such and not because of a random sex scene thrown in....I luved the first movie, I would hate to see this sequel ruined because of this.

According to access hollywood, there is definitely a sex scene in the movie... which is REALLY disturbing considering the director is Kate Beckinsdale's husband, and the other actor involved is not only her ex but the guy she left for her husband... o_0

That...is weird, even by hollywood standards..

if theres anything that can ruin this movie, it's that.

LOL!
That could be a movie in itself right there! Wow, imagine all the uncomfortable moments there were behind the scenes while production was going on. The long scilences, the sideways glimpses, the faking to be amused by the current love interest while the third wheel strolls by....too funny

Anyways, the sex scene will ruin it for me, but not so much more as the other sex scene & the dancing cave orgy thing in Matrix Reloaded, so I'll still watch it and when the sex scene comes up I'll use that as my gateway to go get popcorn and stuff.....(Wise as a serpent  )

Here in Australia it's MA15+ for Strong horror violence and Strong sex scenes. The trailer looked very cool though (we didn't get a fanservice one here) but I'm not one for strong horror or sex. Hmmm...

Nice!

I guess the directors HAD to do somethign about the sexual tension between her and the half vamp/wolf dude.

Why cant they just hold hands and kill people?

I want to see this movie, but I have no real chance until it comes out on dvd. I doubt I could drag some adult out to this movie with me. And it would be pretty uncomfortable sitting through some of those seens. I'll just wait until it comes out on dvd and watch it with my friends. We can skip over some parts.

There seems to be a bit of concern about this throughout the thread. I saw the movie last night, and there is a sex scene. It's not pornographic]immensely[/i], anyone who has delicate sensibilities would more likely be offended by this than by the 4 minutes of implied sexuality.

Again, I hope that helps anyone who was on the fence because of that.

I agree with Sweet Mercury about the violence. I have not seen it, but have read content reviews and heard about the movie from someone else, and it is quite violent. But the sex scene, while short, is also quite graphic in the, er... movements. There may not be frontal nudity, but there's plenty of sex in that scene. Lots of explicit motions alone -- in any scene, in any movie -- make it too offensive for me, frankly.

So everyone should be concerned about both the violence and the sex scene. Both warrant major caution.

Carry on! :thumb:

I advise anyone who is going to see the movie to read the book first.
It will be different in the fact that there is some nudity, but it should still be very very good.

(They still messed up on the vampire transaction though!)

Yeah I probably shouldn't have excluded that. The imagery isn't necessarily explicit, but the motion leaves no questions as what is going on. I didn't necessarily find it offensive, but it's hard to gauge offensiveness as I am almost never offended by anything... I actually thought the scene was tastefully done as opposed to a B-movie pointless romp, but that's entirely subjective. No matter what your level of sensitivity here, just be aware that this movie is not for children.

IMO, most of the movie is about werewolves, blood-drinking, and gory demonic vivisection. If the viewer, as an adult, can handle that, then I don't see the erotic scene being a major issue.

Hey this thread still lives? Groovey!

Violence in a Vampire Werewolf movie......personally I think thats a given, especially when they are at war. I don't mean to sound brash, but yeah anyone whose seen the first movie knows the carnage factor, I am not at all surprised it has been taken to the next degree with this sequel.

The biggest thing for me was the SS (Sex Scene), however as Mercury pointed out it seem to fall into the category of Matrix REeloaded if not less, so it's no longer a concern of mine.

As for the violence, well I pretty much expected it to be apart of the whole monster war movie package. No one should see this movie and expect the violence to be at a minimal, or for it to be at a minimal of any monster movie, or war movie, or both.

God bless,

SO I went to see UE right after it came out, it was Awsome, not as good as the first but not many sequals are, the movie was good though it was kind of a mix between the first one and van hellsing thing, I realy engoyed it the fight scenes are good and yes there is a little more sunshine in this one, sweet movie, the was like a 5 or 8 minuit sex scene though much like the one in second matrix movie, ya I would give it atleast a 7.5 out of ten, yep...
