Yeah. Yoshi's cool if you know how to use him but his second jump's really weird and kinda annoying. Especially when he makes that weird sound on the second jump.

Roy, of course. People say his air attacks suxx0rz, but I haven't had a problem with them. His throws are laughable, though. But counter makes up for it! In the hands of one who is good with timing (i.e. me), you can make some pretty humorous kills. Example: killing someone by countering someone else's fully charged Charge Beam. Or countering a fully charged Flare Blade. That's just funny. Or countering anything else when they least expect it. Particularly mid-air counters. No one I play expects to see those, except after a few rounds of playing me. I have never countered a counter though. Never really tried... now I have an urge to do so.

I don't remember which one he's in but I think it's the one right after the first fire emblem that came out in america since it ends with eliwood having roy. back then, i didn't know much about roy and marth's backrounds and i thought that hector would have marth but he ended up having a girl. Isn't marth from outer space or something like that? Anyways, back to the subject. I think that one of the main things roy's counter is really useful for is against fox and falco's up b. When they're trying to get up, just use his counter and BAM! They're outta here. It's so funny to see.

I always use Pikachu. He can kill from a distance and is generally not regarded as a threat so he can stay somewhat under the radar.

Fox or Falco, either, since they are pretty much the same thing. I use him basically because he has the best recovery moves if you by accident go off the edge.

fox and falco may have far traveling recovery moves but they can easily be counted. by a spike or even a counter (roy or marth's down b) and it's pretty hard to recover if you're going up against a skilled player. i personally think that jigglypuff has the best recovery (not defense) and so does peach. samus and link also has a good recoveries. if you've seen some of the pros use link, to recover great distances, they take out a bomb, throw it up, use up b and blow themselves up and then they can use up b again. it takes a lot of skill but i've learned how to do it about 6 out of 10 times.

Yep. That's practically the only game I play now a days since I want to get better at it so much. There are these really good SSBM videos that I saw with all these pros. It was like a big tournament and you can learn a lot from the videos. If you want, I can PM you the link. But they take a LONG time to load if you have dial-up...

Mewtwo, I rock with Mewtwo. Me and my friend would do team battles and I would blast them while far away, and if they got too close I would hit them with my tail whip and send them straight to my friend for her to strike them down.

(She was either Link, Zleda, or one of the FE characters. Can't remember which. She switched around a lot.)

Tom Dincht wrote:Random question: Which Fire Emblem is Roy in?

Roy is in Fire Emblem 6, which is actually before Fire Emblem 7 (the first American Fire Emblem). FE7 is a prequel to FE6.

Marth is in no way related to Hector, Roy, Eliwood, or anyone else. He's from Fire Emblem 1 and 3, which were on the NES/SNES, which takes place in an alternate universe. Most FE games have two games that take place in one universe, then the next switches to another. The three exceptions are FE2, FE8 (Sacred Stones), and FE9 (Path of Radiance), since those three are not related to any other FE game as of now.

And while I'm on the subject, they totally changed Marth's looks for SSBM. He originally had a very short skirt, knee-high sandals, and looked a LOT girlier.

Observe.

(Sorry the picture is so small, it was the only one I could find)

See, if they left Marth the way he was, then few in America would dare to play as him. Thus, they modeled him more after Roy's design.

Now, marvel at the sheer awesomeness of the ROY! (Other notable characters in that pic: Lilina, the blue-haired girl to the right, is Hector's daughter; in the background is obviously Prince Zephiel, now Emperor Zephiel; Wolts, the green-haired archer near Roy's elbow, is said by many to be the son of Rebecca and Wil; the paladin to the left of Wolts' bow is none other than Marcus, older and crappier than ever; the green-haired Nomad girl near the left tip of Roy's cape is Sue, Rath's daughter).

I play this with my cousins whenever I visit.
Mine are Mario (best for those not too experienced), Mr. Game and Watch (cause he's just so...weird), Link, and Ness. (I'm the only one who ever selects him. But then, no one else in my family has ever played Earthbound.)

It is VERY doubtful that that rumor is true. I have never heard of validation of it before. It is most likely made up like all the other SSBM rumors.

do you use only zelda, or shiek too? i don't think zelda's very good because her speed's pretty bad and her attacks require some time because they're kinda unusual.

It was revealed by the magazine to be a hoax (read it myself a long itme ago) . . . it's by now widely known as such.

And, by the way, your last post could have been much more respectful.

Hate to break it to you but last Summer, I witnessed my friend finish off 31 people in cruel melee with falco since his best character's falco. Nothing happened. No new characters or anything. It just said, "A NEW RECORD!!" and that was it.

Link is by far my best charater and Marth is my second

Link-In the hands of a master he's just as fast as marth and hes more powerful and he can shffl like crazy(Short hop, fast fall, L-cancel), also he a has a perfect balance between ranged attacks and melee attacks which can be sued in a very deadly combination.

Ok everyones that thinks link is slow follow this Link(no pun intended) to the video that makes marth look slow also wait for after the part with tv on screen.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=WRTpywGEw3A

Marth2nd-Marth is my second because his arieal game is pretty much unbeatable and his sword reaches across the screen lol. his Sword dance is awsome and he has a great recovery, so good its really hard to knock him off even when he's out of range for using the dolphin slash(his up -b).
Dont ever doubt God. He can help when thing even are impossible for a Human to work out.God can help us with everything, no matter how long it takes, how much it may seem he's not doing, never doubt God.

ever seen kurtis' link movies. they're pretty crazy. so are the ken vs isai movies. link does have his flaws though. so does marth. one example for link would be that his wavedash is probably one of the hardest to execute and isn't very useful since it doesn't gain much distance. i don't know why but marth seems to be a more open or easier target to build big combos on. so are fox and falco since they're both fast fallers.
