Has anybody ventured into this sci-fi\romance show yet? So far it seems to be a cute series, though it does have it's moments of brief fanservice.

Concept looked cool, but I found the first volume of the manga to be a basically pointless fanservice-y piece of crud. Haven't seen the anime.

Never saw the manga, but on the anime:
Remove the occasional inappropriate panty shots, and this might have been one of my favorite "magical girl" series. I find these scenes as revolting as I do the "fanservice" moments for Lumiere in Kiddy Grade. Not that such things are ever appropriate, but when the characters are this young, it's just piling wrong on top of wrong.

Fortunately, these moments are only occasional, and if you can leave them aside, the rest of the series is a cute, comfortable, enjoyable, well-turned piece of light romantic puppy-love fluff. A couple interesting ideas are mixed in here and there, but mostly nothing terribly original.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

I have not read the manga either. Thankfully, the fanservice isn't the focus of the anime (more like little 'embellishments' thrown in). From what I have seen so far, the second episode only had a brief moment of fanservice in the eye-catcher, but was clean the rest of the way. Though I've tolerated much worse than this.

The characters and how they interact are interesting so far, and I look forward to finishing the set (which, priced at $30, is a great deal). Plus, CPM has got some extras on this release, including the oftentimes off-beat commentary by the Japanese VA's themselves.
