Poll: Most Despicable Anime Villain

Anime has a looong list of great villains. But now I present perhaps one of the most heated polls ever: The most despicable villain in anime history!

No way you can cover all the options. You missed Aion from Chrono Crusade, just off the top of my head. And Tucker is hardly the major villain in FMA.

I vote Naraku!

He manipulates people, uses others feelings to get his way and he doesn't feel any remorse or shame.

Now that is despicable!

I don't see any of my picks up there, so I voted other. XD

In my opinion, Kazutaka Muraki from Yami no Matsuei/Descendants of Darkness and Aion from Chrno Crusade are the absolute worst. o.o

Nakago from Fushigi Yuugi is so much of a *STAMPEDE OF CHICKENS. ORANGE CHICKENS. DEEP FRIED TO A CRISPY, GOLDEN BROWN AND MARINATED IN AN ORANGE MARMALADE SAUCE WITH REAL PIECES OF ORANGE AND ACCOMPANIED BY HAM FRIED RICE AND CHICKEN WINGS* that if he doesn't make this list, there's something wrong.

There's a buttload of truly despicable, vile, cold-hearted monsters in anime that were missed here. I'll echo the vouch for Kazutaka Muraki from Yami no Matsuei as Kokoro Daisuke mentioned, as well as Akio Ohtori from Shoujo Kakumei Utena. (Akio actually tops my list - I despise that man with a passion.) Enrico Maxwell from Hellsing, as well as most of the members of the Millenium Organization in that series. (I'll drop Tubal Cain and Rip Van Winkle off that list for reasons that I'll give via PM if anyone's interested - I don't want to post spoilers here.)

I've noticed that for me, the most vile of evil comes wrapped up in the prettiest faces.

Not on the list but Iizuka from Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. Grrr.....

I am glad he
died bwahaha

Though if it weren't for him, Kenshin would still be plagued by his past demons and never meet Kaoru :X
Eh scratch that. I dislike'd Queen Delphine from last Exile. Cute, yes. Evil, most certainly. Way to evil for me to like as a character. But cute though...

I voted Viscious, because he mirrors the name so well.

The manticore from Boogiepop Phantom is another very despicable creature. Cain from Nightwalker's another. And Hamdo from Now and Then, Here and There is yet another!

Lady Macbeth wrote:Enrico Maxwell from Hellsing, as well as most of the members of the Millenium Organization in that series.

Quite. I haven't seen all of what Enrico ends up doing in Hellsing, but I'm sure he's up to no good. (And it's a good thing you took Rip off the list. *Rip fan* Schroedinger's more evil then her, in my opinion.)

I'm voting for Shou Tucker. Sure he wasn't a primary evil guy, but come on! He used his daughter and his dog in his experimentations! That's just wrong and evil no matter how you shave it!

Shou Tucker should not be on the list since he was not even a villian.

Very much up to no good. That much, however, was obvious from the moment he called Integra a sow.

I'm a huge fan of Rip myself.

I say Gaul from Full Metal Panic, hands down. That dude just would not die, and he was sadistic to boot... but the strange thing is, he was almost justified. Almost.

Rau Le Creuset, show rumors said that if he had survived much longer he would have launched his own contingency plan against earth, using dozens of nuclear and thermonuclear weapons.

The Puppet Master doesnt really need to be on there, he was purposely facilitating those events to bring attention to himself from Section 9 so they could save 'him'.

I'm with Jamie on this one, Nakago from Fushigi Yugi is definitely at the top of the list. Coming in at a VERY close second is Dilandau from Escaflowne. That guy was just absolutely freakin' nuts.

Of the choices on the list, I would say Delphine. Just the way she smiles as she does and says such evil things. One of the few villains I would call "deliciously evil." Legato would be my second choice from the list since he had the ability to actually make someone act against their own will. What a vile ability, and what damage it can do to a person without even hurting them physically.

Villains not mentioned on the list, but worthy of note: Wang from Irresponsible Captain Tylor, and Joker and Wendy from R.O.D. the TV. Though Joker was probably more evil, I find Wendy more despicable because you felt so much more betrayed by her.

I agree that Naraku is a pretty generic villain.

I said Naraku. Why? Because he's never going to die. The series will prolong itself because of Naraku. Therefore, he will never die. And that's just...despicable.

ROFL, really though, I'd say Viscious. Or maybe Vincent, from Knockin' on Heaven's Door. He was pret~ty despicable.

Even though his character was a satiracal hyperbole (now when i say satire, that doesn't mean funny... Not all Satire is supposed to be funny) Hamdo from Now and Then, Here and There is definately the most evil villain I've ever seen in an anime. Of course, his evil can be explained away by insanity... There are other characters in that show (One guy who isn't named, for instance) who are evil and still appear to be sane...

Nah, Joker's not that "bad." I mean, he is, but when he makes his "Do you think you're the hero?" speech to Yomiko, you can almost believe he's right...almost.

Tetsuo and Vincent are more sympathetic villains than despicable. Sure some of the things they do are despicable, but you're supposed to feel a little sorry for them because of their past.

I don't consider Hamdo as despicable as others because of his insanity.

Joker's ability to rationalize his actions is part of his despicability.

I don't know a lot of the villains mentioned, so I'll just go based on what I do.

Naraku is pretty manipulative as a villain, messing with people's emotions and turning them against each other. I think that's what makes him so 'hateable'.

However, in my opinion, the position of Most Despicable Villain should go to Rau Le Creucet from Gundam SEED. Sure, Naraku manipulated Kikyo to pin Inuyasha to a tree, and he manipulated several others as well. But come on! Rau subtly manipulated people on both sides of a war, diving them to kill each other.

I got a bit excited so this next bit has lots of Gundam SEED spoilers. I didn't want to bother sorting them out.
He goaded them on and basically handed the Alliance nuclear capabilities on a silver platter. How long after that did the Alliance almost wipe out the MILLIONS OF COORDINATORS LIVING IN THE PLANTS with a massive nuclear stike? Rau came awfully close to have the naturals and coordinators WIPE EACH OTHER OUT, making the earth unlivable and space a giant graveyard.

Oh, but not all his work was done on such a large scale. Rau toyed with the life and emotions of Flay Allster, using her to deliver the N-Jammer Canceller to, of all people, the leader of Blue Cosmos. He revealed Kira's heritage to him in just such a way to torment him. Because of his face-to-face encounter with Le Creuset, Kira even seems about ready to commit suicide at times - particularly after Rau shoot's down Flay's escape pod, fleeing the Dominion.

You want more? How about the fact that, time after time, Rau sent Athrun out to battle his best friend. He slowly fixed in Athrun's mind the idea of having no choice but to kill Kira. And he almost did just that.
To sum up: Rau manipulated everyone, moving humanity toward nothing less than universal genocide.
Beat that!
I will not waver, doubt or falter for all truth in this world has been written into the book here at my side.

"Hardly evil?" the dude comes so close to destroying the world mercilessly that you can smell the debris!
And as for those of you objecting to Tucker Shou, allow me to explain: he was voted Most Despised Character by the gamefaqs message board for Adult Swim. That alone justifies his placement. Well, that and what he did to poor Nina. :waah!: :mutter:
And now I will explain why Sergei is on my list.
Not only does he denounce his own humanity, (pretty bad in itself) but the show seems to imply that he created The Ring, which killed nearly half of the human population. If that's not despicable, I don't know what is!
i too say naraku....he manipulates people just for the enjoyment of watching them squerm and he kills just bout everyone...and like starwarsboy said...rarely sullies his own hand.

but my second choice would be either delphine or knives...seshomarru isnt exactly a villan....he just is only concerned bout himself and anyone who gets in his way will prolly be killed
