I'm not sure what that was they were showing just now, but it didn't look like Princess Mononoke.

Yeah... Mom and I looked at their site and figured out that our TV listings printed the American schedule, which is quite different from the Canadian schedule. I feel like I've been had... ;__;
Well, at least I've already got Spirited Away on DVD -- and there's always Princess Mononoke on YTV near the end of the month.

Perhaps someone has already mentioned this, but did anyone else notice that Newtype magazine stated that the movies would be Thursdays at 8 AM??? disturbing. if it weren't for checking online, we'd have missed 2 of them. *looking forward to drowning in anime over the weekend. ^_^

Watched most of Sprited Away last night. Recorded Princess Mononoke on the cable box. DVR thingy is awsome.

This was the first time I'd ever seen Mononoke subtitled...
I wish I hadn't missed the opening discussion thing on both showings of Mononoke... THe first because I was taping another show, the second because I was bored of watching TCM's ads... I will definately have to see those next thursday... I taped the subtitled versions.

I thought Princess Mononoke was fantastic.And that was just the dubbed version.If it weren't for the fact that Neon Genesis Evangelion was on at 12:30 I would have sat through the subbed version as well.

I wanted to see the subed versions, but it was getting late and I was sleepy.
Can't wait to see Nausicaa and Porco Russo. (for whatever reason, NO video rental place in Raliegh ever got either of them)

Is it just me, or were you also surprised at hearing Maro's orginal voice? I really liked the english job of it, but I just couldn't get past the old man sounding orginal voice >_<
The only other thing I noticed is that the dialogue is slightly different going from orginal and dub. Ashitaka explains his love for San more in the orginal. *shrugs* Haven't seen either version for a while, but I've been working on other DVDs for now^^

I'd watch Totoro too, but knowing I'll eventually buy it when it comes out I'll wait. Only rented the Fox dub a while ago. Heh, who knew as a kid that the one really interesting movie in the video store I wanted to see was a Miyazaki anime? Dunno why I never bothered renting it though... :/ Too bad I didn't. Then I did eventually.

I'm kind of disappointed Kiki's Delivery Service is excluded from the festival, though. This was my first Miyazaki exposure and it'll always have a special place in my heart because of that no matter how sappy the story is.

Keep an eye on the Disney Channel - they still play it from time to time. I assume that's the reason it's not on TCM.

i watched both of the movies and i loved them both sooo much!!1 i even decided to record it cause it was coming on again after they were both over but when started recording it it was in japanese which was ok tho cause it sounds better. but the problem i had was that the original movie showed a lot of butt shots that i didnt exactly care for. but other than that they were both really good and i cant wait till next thurs

Have you then actually seen it? I've always been interested to know what the butchered plot was like, out of curiosity. I mean, how can it have a plot if they took half an hour out of it? Oh wait, Saban (was it?) did that with Digimon and took out about 40 mins of 2 movies and spliced the 3 together, making it look like one big continuous plot :/

Ack, noooo!!! I MISSED Castle in the Sky last night!! I was trying to record the subbed version, and I was doing stuff while the dub was on, so I set my VCR timer. BUT, my VCR only records if the tv is off when it needs to start recording...And I accidentally fell asleep with my TV on last niiight! 
I'm so sad about that! I've wanted to see that movie since I was about 10 years old...
I think I'm just going to go buy it at Best Buy...*sniff sniff* I did get to see part of Nausicaa, though, and it was good (she needed pants! 
), but I had to go do something for my mom in the middle of it, and I didn't get to see the whole thing. Soooo saaaad.....

Ooooh something I never noticed (and maybe a heads up for if any West coasters want to start watching). The time schedule for when the movies play on the east coast, are the same for us, so we get to watch them 3 hrs earlier! Just checked the TV guide and realized the sub version of Porco comes on at 11:45, NOT 2:45! Yay! Don't have to stay up AS late as I thought I had to!

Wow. I haven't been here in almost two months...Anyway, I missed the film festival since I wasn't at college when it was happening, but I get to Totoro, Porco Rosso, and Whisper of the Heart Thursday so I can live with it. Too bad I'll only get to see them in the dub. I usually like to see the sub first. Oh well, you can't have everything you want.

ok well i watched the movies they showed last night. (they showed three) and i thought they were really good...except porco rosso i didnt reallly like...i just couldnt get into the movie but it wasnt that bad...just not my fav.
