Final Fantasy XII.
I played the demo, love the battle system but with the sudden change of it I just wished it would be a sidegame as opposed to a straightforward FF game.

I'll add Beyond Good and Evil to my list.
There isn't a single song on that game I think I'll forget (in a good way), the character designs are wonderfully imaginative, it has a beautiful story, and top-notch graphics. I should dig that game up and play it again someday.

Generally, it is hack n' slash. But there are several other types of gameplay which make the game really, really fun. Such as stealth mode, which I am told is a lot like the Metal Gear games. Side quests, that help you collect money, normally center around taking pictures of rare animals, which is a lot more fun than it sounds. You can read a review to find out more about it, but I say you should just get seeing as it's so dang cheap now.

I thought Kingdom Hearts was pretty and I know most people won't have the same opinion as I about this next one, but I think Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls was really pretty too

I would say the prettiest game of this year is Resident Evil 4 on GCN. The environments and characters were all done in such a way to really show what graphics are for: to draw the player in.

As far as ever, that would take some thought for me. I'll get back to you on that one.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

Hmm... perhaps I should go off and pick up BG&E then. Sounds good enough, and if it's cheap... :D

Oo, I'll second the vote for Beyond Good and Evil. I think I spent two hours just wandering around the Lighthouse.

I also have a soft spot for Wind Waker, while some people might not agree with the cartoony look, it was bold and I loved how unified and consistent the world design was. And you could break dishes and cups, which caused some mad giggling on my part.

And Shadow of the Collosus is probably one of the artsiest games that I've played in a while. So pretty in every way ^_^

Wind Waker be the awesomeness. Sure, it was "cartoony" and had less dungeons than most, but it was still great (though sometimes just sailing around bored me...).

I need Shadow of the Collossus... ;_;

Hehe! I didn't think I'd ever get this many replies!
Anyway, I'm still cruisin' on Metroid Prime. In particular, Phendrana Drifts.

Okay, how about prettiness in terms of graphical limitations?
Like Donkey Kong Country. It's not as amazing as Halo 2, but it's SNES for sheesh' sake!

I know. DKC has sweet graphics.

My opinion for Graphics is:

GBC=NES
GBA=SNES
DS=N64

Obviously some games are exceptions but that is my opinion.

I think that the GBC could produce more colors than the NES.
The original Gameboy was probably on par with the NES.
And the DS is definitely more powerful than the 64, I think it's almost on the level of the PS2. Or Sega Dreamcast. That's about right.

By the way, DKC was pretty much the first game woith pre-rendered graphics.
That's why it looks so good.

My vote for currently most beautiful game would be Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. Not necessarily up to modern game graphics, but the world was eerily beautiful through it's day/night and weather changes and pretty terrain.

The most beautiful game in the works (in my opinion) would be Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, hands down. The graphics are amazingly beautiful, and the world's design looks as hauntingly amazing as its predecessor.

(Yes, I play other games than the Elder Scrolls series, its just that they have a knack for gorgeous (and gargantuan) world design.

Oo, if we're bringing up the retro games from back in the day with the SNES, I'd like to mention Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (it's also out on GBA). Y'know the one with Baby Mario and all of the multicolored Yoshis? It had such cute, bright and scribbly graphics. Each of the worlds were so distinct and the little effects really added to the graphical quality, like the monkeys and the squishy mud slides on the jungle worlds.

And the bosses were sweet. I'm not sure how exactly the were rendered but it was an interesting visual effect and they were huge. My faves were the blue whale with the gaping maw, the bird guy on the moon and the final, totally ticked Godzilla! Baby Bowser O_O

Yay! I didn't know there was anyone else who liked that game!
And for non-prerendered graphics, they sure were amazing. Agreed on every point.

Volt didn't like any games... Or any TV shows... Or any movies... He basically felt all entertainment media was worthless, and hated it all, it would seem because of his experience at Full Sail. It's just that he hated stuff like Resident Evil the least out of all that stuff...

And the crappy thing for me is I feel somewhat responsible for him having gone there...
