Ok i just got a new computer, and I need to know what games to get. You see, before now i had a really really bad computer and i was never able to play any games for advanced than the first halo  .

So now that ive got a really really good computer i need to know a few games that are really good that are reasonably good buys.

First a guess I should give you the specs on my computer:

256 mb video card, I GB of RAM, 120 GB hard drive
"rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

METAL!!!

New computers are always fun....

My recommendations:

FPS

Call of Duty
Half-Life 2
Star Wars Republic Commando
Battlefield 2
Far Cry

Great Budget Strategy Games

Command and Conquer: Generals
Act of War: Direct Action
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Dawn of War (very bloody, but you can turn the blood off)
Silent Hunter III

Other Great Strategy Games

Age of Empires III
Civilization IV
Battle for Middle Earth (gets old really fast, though)
Rome: Total War

It's neither strategy nor FPS, both of which seem to have dominated this thread already. Seriously -- think action RPG, with semi-animeish-looking characters. Go to the site and see the screenshots in the downloads section if you're interested. ^_^
