Fantasy, sci fi, historical fiction, travels, etc. I have a pretty broad array of books that I like- but even in the three aforementioned categoires, I like to see travel in those as well.

So, I guess travel is my favorite.

Anything and everything, heck, I got kicked out of the library for trying to read the satanic bible (it was kept behind glass, the very reason i wanted to find out what why they did that...)

That's really odd]Parents[/b] are the ones who make decisions about what teens can and cannot read, not public libraries.

That said, I'm an "anything and everything" person who has cleaned out libraries myself, but these days I read largely fantasy and religion-related books.

I used to stick largely to fantasty; but while I still enjoy reading the genre it doesn't really have the same appeal. I read the odd sci-fi but what I really look out for is the odd good humourous novel I come accross. I still love Terry Pratchett but am starting to be on the lookout for other good authors in other genres.

It seems like quite a few people so far like the fantasty genre (among others). I wonder what makes quite a few people stick largely to one genre as their staple reading food group... I have quite a few friends who only read fantasy or mystery novels.

I'd have to say with my two favorite book series, Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia, I definately prefer Fantasy, but not the normal stuff that you see in the Fantasy section... THe endless "Sorcerous maiden of elderberry" stuff, with all that horrible 80's airbrush art showing porn stars on the cover wearing one piece G-strings... Something just makes me avoid those... That something being the hideous covers... You aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover, but they sure keep me away, though...

My friend is into Simon R Green... When I move out (those books would definately be off limits in this house) I'm gonna start reading those. They are fantasy, BTW... A big chunk involve Magician cops... And a few of them have bouffant wearing porn-stars with 1 piece g-string suits on the covers... I'm going to try not to look at the cover art... They'll make me go into convusions...

I am not well versed in books... Not enough to find stuff to read on my own.

Two of my former roomates basically said I'd be crazy if I didn't read at least 2/3 of the Michael Crichton catelogue, so I think I'm going to start on those... Start by reading Jurassic Park again. I do prefer fantasy to Sci-Fi, though

Fantasy and mystery/thriller/adventure for me. My favourites are the Narnia books and Frank Peretti's books. Fantasy is a very broad genre. For fantasy/thriller it's Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. The Adventures of Tintin and Agatha Christie novels for mystery/adventure. I read most stuff except romance, most horror, westerns and most historical fiction (the general fiction variety).

I have rather eclectic tastes.I've read everything from Homer to Bone.My tastes range from history(including biography)to sci fi and fantasy and some horror(classic horror really, like Dracula)to humor to science to religion to politics or to be precise anything that I find interesting or entertaining.One of the few things I will not read is Christian fiction as I find most Christian fiction today to be drab and boringly dull.I will make exemptions if it is well written though.

SF mostly, I rather like gibson and chrichton. I'm now getting into Lovecraft, and a little into King. I also greatly enjoy the fantasy genre, especially since I used to like Burroughs and still enjoy Rowling and Narnia.

This is going to make me look like a very boring person, but I like political books. Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, things like that.
If I'm not reading those, it's pure fantasy, all the way, Alice in Wonderland being one of my favorites.
