No More IE for Mac?

Postby Locke » Mon Dec 19, 2005 5:22 pm

I think they found out I was carrying a usb drive with camino inside to school to use on the macs...

Still, is this even a bad thing? M$ is even recommending to use Safari instead!
No love for Camino I guess...

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Actually, to be honest, I thought something like this had already happened. I've been telling people to drop IE for the Mac for ages anyway. I love Safari.

*I* use Camino.

IE is still a nice browser for OS 9, though (hate to admit this, but it's true). My OS 9 boxes here use it, so I've got a copy on the fileserver now for archiving.

I thought they made this decision two years ago. Did I miss something...? *reads article* Ah. They don't SUPPORT IT now. Question:

"What has Microsoft done to support IE for Macintosh since they stopped updating it?"

I think that means if you have a support question, you're on your own... though with MS, it's hard to tell at times.

I remember complaining about proxy support in the then-current version of Mac Messenger and getting a fat load of nothing (they're supposed to support it, but it doesn't work). So I don't think this changes much, really.

To be fair, the support offered for their free Windows programs isn't much better either. At least they're being upfront with it here. ;)
