Sennin wrote:Why wait? Learn Japanese now! That was my attitude when I first discovered who many volumes of Inuyasha were yet to be translated. It turned out to be a good decision, e.g. the translation of Inuyasha vol. 7 is awful. It's not as implausible as it seems. Japanese is not a difficult language to learn: the difficult parts are memorizing the kanji and learning certain complex particles. Also, Inuyasha is a very easy comic to read in the original and there's a helpful translation site (Inuyasha - Sengoku o-Togi Zoushi) if you run into any difficult parts. I would say the hardest comics to read in the original are Full Metal Alchemist and Rurouni Kenshin.

I'd really like to learn Japanese if I could find the time and the patience to learn it. Sengoku o-Togi Zoushi is a great site! It helps me keep up with whats going on in the manga. :)

Aww youre so lucky! I wanna see it so bad. In a way I kinda like the Japanese version of the anime more than the English. I mean dont get me wrong I love Richard Cox but Kappei Yamaguchi just rawks! I also like the Japanese version of Kagome much more than the English one.

I saw it, bought it a couple months back. It's ok, but I didn't like it as much as Movie 3! Movie 3 rocked! However, the coolest fight scene in Movie 4 was between Sesshoumaru and that one red haird Youkai.

Yeah i don't think i have seen the 3rd movie....But the 2nd movie was funny (at least some parts) The most romantic part was when Kagome kissed Inu! that really made my heart jump. I sometimes wish that i could of been Kagome at that very moment!

I'll wait for the manga to get translated.I figure we still have the final 40 episodes to air on AS so what's the rush.I still want to get as much of the anime on DVD
as I can and also as much of the manga.
Yesterday I found a Kagura fansite that had spoiler about how she dies in the manga.

What an unfortunate thing to read! Anyway, her death will still come as a surprise (unless the title of the chapter is named Kagura no Shi). It's too bad that she must die. Despite disliking her at her first appearance, I've grown rather fond of this villain. I suppose that her death will come due to her desire to kill Naraku and gain her freedom.

I finally saw the 4th movie this week. It was ok I guess. My favorite one is still the 3rd one followed by the 1st. The 2nd and 4th ones are about equal in my book.

Being a bit of a romantic at heart I do hope that Rumiko Takahashi finds a way of ending Inuyasha in the manga so that we can have happy endings for everyone and that Naraku finally gets his.

Yeah I do too. I hope Takahashi doesn't decide to do anything evil like kill off any main characters (except Naraku of course) or end with something along the lines of Kagome leaving the feudal era never to return or see her friends ever again.

I would also be fairly upset if Kagome left the feudal era forever or if most of the main characters died. The two exceptions for the latter are Sesshomaru and Naraku. Since he's the villain, Naraku must die if the story is to have an end (unless Takahashi wishes to imitate the endings of certain horror movies). In the case of Sesshomaru, he just seems to me to be the sort of character that should die a fitting death, e.g. giving his life in defense of Rin. This would sort of crown his character development that began when he met Rin. However, I'm not Rumiko Takahashi, so we'll have to see what she does with this.

NOoOoOooo not Sesshoumaru!!! :waah!: But I could definitely see this as a possibilty however I would be really sad if it happens. Maybe...he can just get hurt really bad saving Rin or something but be ok and everyone lives happily everafter. THE END. :thumb:

I would like the finale in the manga to help to tie in such loose ends as:
*Why Rin is so much like Kagome.
*Do Sango and Miroku ever get married.
*Will Kagome ever pass math class.

Not to change the subject or anything here...but has anyone seen Inuyasha episode 163 "Sango, Kirara, Kohaku, The Secret Garden"? I just finished watching it and it was soooo freakin' sad!! I was teary-eyed through almost the entire show.

That's why I prefer the manga. Usually the manga's ambience is much less serious than the anime, though the anime also puts in the same jokes as those in the manga.

But they did mess up one. Remember when Sesshoumaru cuts down Jaken with the Tenseiga? In the anime, they explained that the sword doesn't kill before Sesshoumaru whacks Jaken. In the manga, this explanation happened afterwards, which made Sesshoumaru's action much more unexpected. By having the explanation afterwards, both the reader and Jaken feel the same kind of surprise when Jaken rises unhurt.

Is there anyone else who has Kouga as their favorite character from the show?

I really like Kouga, but I wouldn't say he's my favorite out of all the characters. I think it's funny how him and Inuyasha are always fighting over Kagome. If she was smart, she'd pick Kouga. He's nicer to her than Inuyasha. I'm kidding...kinda. Anyway as for favorites, I find it difficult to choose just one character since each character has a quality that I like about him or her. But if I had to pick a favorite then it would be a tie between Inuyasha, Sango, Sesshoumaru, Miroku, and Kagome. o_O

I'd say that the thing I like best about Kouga is his straightforward personality. It's also fun to see how many (Japanese) insults he can apply to Inuyasha. Do you know that at some point he tells the reason for carrying his sword?

Nope. I never knew the reason why he carried that sword. I just thought it was because it looked fancy ^_^;

Exactly, but Kouga admits to this in one chapter...right after it saved his life.

Yes, that's when Kouga used it. I doubt that we'll see it unsheathed again. Has that part of the series been animated yet or is it still only in the manga? I do my best to keep ahead of the anime.

The anime ends at episode 167.Anything following that is manga based.I think what you might be talking about is after but can't say for certain until we AS airs 127-167.The question is when will we get the translated manga for the rest of Inuyasha in bookstores around here?

That is a good question. The only manga I know of that is translated quickly is Rurouni Kenshin. The translating Viz does of Inuyasha moves at a snail's pace (I remember feeling sorry for purely English speaking fans of Inuyasha when I noticed how long volume 18 was the latest translated volume). However, the obvious remedy for this takes alot of work, though Inuyasha is one of the easier manga to read in the original, especially since furigana is on every symbol of kanji. If you are tired of relying on Viz's slow (and sometimes inaccurate) translators, visit the learning Japanese thread in the general forum and follow Vizier the Swordsman's advice.

I believe it is better to learn a language from a native speaker and in a classroom setting. That way you are sure to be able to be corrected when needed. As far as it goes I can easily wait for the manga to be translated. No real rush.I buy whatever issue I feel like buying and am not collecting in any sort of order. The fact is the last one I bought was animanga #9.I'm not a purist when it comes down to that so I don't mind in what form I get Inuyasha as long as it is avaible.

During Christmas Break, I ought to dissect Viz's translation of volume 7 and compare it to the original. Unless they've issued a corrected version, everyone should find some of the differences quite interesting.

I suppose you might call me a purist. I'm of that philosophy that says one must get as close to the original item as possible to really understand it and the less people who interpret it for one the better.

Compared to other languages, it's actually pretty easy to learn]furigana[/I].

Now, I'll write vaguely about the imminence of Inuyasha's ending. As I see it, after reading volume thirty-seven, Naraku's end should be near. His whole organization is crumbling and I don't see a way that he can get out of the current situation. So many people wish to see him dead that there is no hope of him living much longer, unless he becomes a full demon. Now, the manga would seem too contrived if Rumiko Takahashi tried to make it greater than 500 chapters.

Maybe one day I will take the time to learn the language. ^_^

As much as I like the series, I do wish Naraku would just hurry up and die, however, I don't want it to be some rushed ending so if it takes Takahashi over 500 chapters to come up with a good ending then that's ok with me. If you're interested, here are two really good sites which keep up with the most current manga http://ear-tweak.com/index.htm and http://www.wot-club.org.uk/Inuyasha/
