The xbox360 is not a revolution...

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

The xbox360 is not a revolution...

This is an awesome article!

T_T <---- tears of joy

Halo 3 may be the most anticipated FPS of all time, but we will guarantee you this right now: Metroid Prime 3 is going to absolutely eclipse it where control is concerned. And that really begs the question, are we playing these games or are we looking at them? Hardcore players can look forward to a variety of adult software on Nintendo's new system, including a new Final Fantasy, a first-person shooter from Ubisoft, and much more.

Whether you ultimately choose to go with a PlayStation 3 or a Revolution, you might be better served, and for exceptionally different reasons. PS3 promises more power than 360 and potentially greater visual accomplishments. In contrast, Revolution is set to bring about an entirely new way to play games.

Oh, and PS3 also has blu-ray, so you can have bigger games... Provided game developers take advantage of it... In any case, I'm going with Sony for reasons of Loyalty... Not loyalty to Sony, but loyalty against Microsoft in the console race, and the fact that so far I'm not liking the direction the revolution is going... Of course, that could change, but unless a major shift takes place, Sony will have what I want...

If I had the money, I may get all three... Or, at least, have my friend move in with me, who has a 360...

Still... KID ICARUS? They're doing a new Kid Icarus? I loved that game on the NES... Hmm... I'll have to see what it ends up doing... Old Franchises don't always make good new games...

THANK YOU! Okay, all three of you deserve a dollar. *gives virtual dollars to all of them*

I was worried that posting about my eternal boycott of the Xbox would make a whole lot of controversy. I've disliked Xbox since I heard about it way back in the day. People told me that whole 'you don't know cuz you haven't played it' story. So I played it and my opinion of Xbox did not get better, maybe even worse. But still, now that Xbox 360 is out, when you look at it, it's no better than the original save for some better graphics (whoop de doo). And it still stands that there is not a single game on either console that interests me in the least bit.

I've debated this back and forth at least 8 times with lengthy posts I don't think I'm going to bother. But you do know they make one of these "10 reasons to wait for..." for every console right? Some of the points in this article are just plain foolish we know almost jack about the Revolution, some of it is just plain assumption or unsubstantiated.

Not a single game has been announced or shown for the Revolution so where did they get Kid Icarus from?

Not a single game?

SSBR, dude? single game. And there's been others dude.

Anyway, I liked the article because it presses the fact that games shouldn't be gfx shows, which is what I've been telling people forever.

Come on... who doesn't know that they make "10 reason to wait for..." articles for all three systems? You'd have to be blind to not see the XBox360 article 2 articles under the revo version.

not that i'm for or against it, but if one wants a gfx show, my laptop can outdo all three systems most likely... but that's why i paid 4-5 times the amount of money that they cost. (unfortunately, there seems to be a minority of good games released for the comp... )

In all honesty, I'm barely affected by next generation consules. I'll likely play games from all three and buy none of them.

Hardcore players can look forward to a variety of adult software on Nintendo's new system

You know, this part of the sentence is not well written. If not for the latter half I would have assumed some odd things.

yes,
there are several good PC games like AOE 3 and CoD2, WoW, etc.
but there are many more good multiplayer (on the same screen) games for the consoles... including Burnout 3, Halo 2, DDR (at least the good ones), smash bros, etc.

so when friends come over, they have to bring thier laptops (if they have them) if we want to play against each other...

thats the whole selling point for pc games...you dont have to have a split screen, i cant think of one multiplayer pc game that does split screen

I also think Microsoft is a loser company...let's see. There are people who preordered their Xbox 360s MONTHS ago, still do not have them, and Microsoft has the gall to launch the 360 in Europe?! Yeah, screw over the people who are still waiting for them in this country, yeah, okay.

Yet, for some reason, people still support Microsoft. I don't understand.

Eh, whatever. Doesn't matter to me. Buy what you want. Me and my green is gonna support Nintendo, and hope Microsoft gets buried in the console business faster than you can say "It'sa me, Mario!"

What a great article. I can agree with every single point.

But when you think about it, if Revolution has the same specs as 360, but it doesn't support HD, that means that on a non-HD tv it'll look nicer, because it doesn't have to reserve power or the extra resolution.
You can easily see it on computer games: up the resolution and the frame rate immediately goes down.
So if Revolution doesn't do HD, the games will look better because of it.

I like that article, but have no grudges against the 360, which will undoubtedly have some good games. It has a lot of good points, though.

Microsoft isn`t a loser company! Console-wise I agree, Kaemmerite, but when it comes to Computers...Go gates!
What is the difference between the XBox and the Xbox 360? Sure Call of Duty 2`s graphics are unbelievable but I wouldn`t be surprized to see the same graphics on the normal Xbox.

Yeah, Bill Gates has the best computer programs! I love having Windows crash every week! WOOO! It rocks! I love the "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" message. That little dialogue box makes me happy!

Yeah, Microsoft rules on computers. e.e

I've read this article before.

"Effin' Windows"... bwahahaha... I wonder if that's allowed, though. O.o

Not a single game has been announced or shown for the Revolution so where did they get Kid Icarus from?

Once again, I display this.

(unfortunately, there seems to be a minority of good games released for the comp... )

Well, alot of stuff on the XBOX can be gotten on PC anyways, so...

Eh, whatever. Doesn't matter to me. Buy what you want. Me and my green is gonna support Nintendo, and hope Microsoft gets buried in the console business faster than you can say "It'sa me, Mario!"

I love you. In a straight kinda way... okay, that sounded worse...

But when you think about it, if Revolution has the same specs as 360, but it doesn't support HD, that means that on a non-HD tv it'll look nicer, because it doesn't have to reserve power or the extra resolution.

Ah-HAH! Very nice. Didn't think about that. X3

Just wondering, but... what's better then? :l
