I said "guy" because I was thinking about "Devil May Cry". Heh, that rhymes.

Does Square-Enix own it or does Funimation? -Is confused-

Square-Enix makes the games and is mentioned in the credits which by the way, the credits are so random.....She`s petting her dog, reminds me of the credits to DB...Bulma got all the attention.

How many seasons are there in Japan? Only asking because of the small amount here so far.

What the heck was the purpose of that whole sequence when Greed jhas the pentegram below him with the freaky-looking girl if he didn`t die from it? Did that make him weaker or not as evil?
The arry is the only thing that can weaken an homunuculi. Apparently a homunuculi has many lives and the array also drains the humunculi of its extra lives.

As to the part with the stones. I'm guessing that those were red stones (fake Philosopher Stones) and those bring out the extra lives but i'm just guessing on that
*SPOILER ABOUT THE ENDING OF THE SERIES*
i heard the series ends in a movie which i think is the movie that's showing in Japan
Flight from the lives we once faced

Just one season in Japan. Most of the the time in Japan, anime is just one season long, but they will show half of the series and then take a break and then show the rest later.

There are some animes that cut up into seasons, Big O, GITS:SAC and Digimon are the only ones that I know of that would be animes what were space into seasons.

FMA is 51 episodes long.

edit: I was wrong about the date that the movie had premiere in Japan. It didn't premiere in Japan in May, but July 23 of this year.
scar dies. He looses both arms. You see him fighting kimberly. And kimberly turns Al into an explosive. So scar turns Al into the philosopher's stone. And poof Scar is gone.
you could consider that FMA has 4 seasons sort of. 4 Openers... so maybe 4 seasons? But it's all continuous so not really.

As far as it goes I believe the normal number of episodes for an anime is
around 26:Silent Mobius,Cowboy Bebop,RahXephon,etc.

Its somewhat of a wrap up. The story is well, hmm. How to say this with out giving too much away.
One of the The Homunculus lives to fight another day at the end of the series, he or she is in the movie.
However, given that all of the homonoculi are named after the traditional Seven Deadly Sins, it is predictable for there to be only seven.

Tom Dincht wrote:I also noticed that Greed coughed up those red stones that Wrath ate and he yelled "My Life!"

In the manga, each of the homonoculi has a single, imperfect Philosopher's Stone inside of them. This causes them to constantly regenerate themselves (which is why Lust survived the attacks of Marcoh and Hughes). Hence, the only way to destroy them is to destroy the Philosopher's Stone directly or to overload it until its flaws cause it to break.

Of course, the anime is slightly different, but the same could reasonably apply. If Greed had still had the Philosopher's Stones inside him, he would have merely healed after Ed stabbed him.

Ok,let me get this straight:a humnuclus is formed whenever someone
attempts to "resurrect" a dead person. The humnuclus therefore takes
on the general appearance of the dead person but IS NOT the dead
person only a replica or clone. Each humnuclus represents one of the
Seven Deadly Sins therefore only Seven can exist at one time.
Also once one is destroyed another can therefore take its place.
Does this sound right?
So even if Ed and Al destroy all Seven CURRENT humnuculi there is still the chance that someone else might be foolish enough to try to raise
another dead person and a whole new set of humnuculi could be created.
So how could they defeat all of the current ones and still prevent any
new ones from being created in the future? :eyeroll:

Yep, that is about right. A humnuclus can be formed by failed attempt or fully resurrect of that dead person with out the person ending up like Ed or Al.
I don't know if you remember the part where Envy and Sloth met Greed. Greed said, so there person with that name too. Envy said, and there is a new Lust too. Envy is one of the oldest members of the humnuculi. The new Lust was formed from the failed transmutation of Scar's brother. Sloth was created from the Elrics failed transmutation and Greed and Pride was created by Dante. Greed didn't want to do anything that Dante had plan and wouldn't work the other humnuculi. That why Dante wanted the other Humnuculi to kill him. The other humnuculi are puppets to Dante.

Movie spoiler below. Read at your own risk....
Actually, 3 Homonculi survive into the movie. So I've read, Wrath, Gluttony and Envy all appear.
Also, technically there can be more than 7 Homonculi, or at least, there's no express law that's stated there can't be. The 7 Deadly Sins are just those who happen to work for (whether currently, in the past, or were intended to have) our 'mysterious puppetmaster.'

Or at least, that's the way I've always looked at it. *shrugs*

Alright i've learned some info concerning how greed dies and what happened
The reason how Layla (the girl at Dante's that helped weaken Greed) knew how to weaken Greed is because Dante can switch her sould with that of another person (in this case Layla) so it wasnt Dante that was dead it was actually Layla and that's how she knew how to weaken a homunculi. Also Dante wanted Greed dead since he wouldn't follow orders.
None the less, spoilers should still be utilized for those larger spoilers that some reading this thread may not want to know (things beyond the anime currently, for example). If I were to tell you who Pride is, that would definitely go in spoiler brackets, but I will let you find out for yourself.

In regards to Pride...
Well, technically Pride has shown up, but He or She hasn't been labelled as that yet.
As to Wrath, the story up til now is this.... (I wouldn't see this as spoilers since its aired, but I'll spoiler it anyway just to be safe)
After being kidnapped by Archer, Izumi goes to rescue him, which see proceeds to do. However, Kimbly and the lizard Chimera (does he have a name?), Ed and Al, Archer and Armstrong, and Envy (disguised as the Furher), all show up to stop Izumi and/or get the child. Amongst it all, the Envious Furher takes the boy from Izumi and takes him into a side room. Envy then proceeds to fill the boy in on who he is and feeds him incomplete Philosopher stones. Wrath then goes through a transformation and regains his memory from being inside the Gate. Wrath then runs out of the room, Izumi arrives and finds what looks to be the Furher with a hole in his chest, being 'killed' by Wrath. Izumi realizes that he's gone through a change and so takes him to Yock Island to kill him.

Fast forward, on the Island, Izumi has her hands around Wrath's neck and he then proceeds to say that if she doesn't kill him, he'll kill her. Then, Ed, Al and Winry arrive on Yock Island (with Envy watching from afar the whole time), and now Wrath is strangling Izumi, who is not fighting back. We proceed to exposition, the Al vs Wrath and Ed vs Wrath, then Izumi proceeds to create a great chasm that cut through the island to seperate the brothers and Wrath before Ed would stab him.

While all this is going on, Envy and Greed meet up, fight, then Sloth arrives, and Greed flees. Sloth then chastises Envy for putting Wrath into the conflict with the Elrics because the goal was to use him as bait to get them back on the trail to create the Philosopher's Stone, but Envy says he/she had to see Ed trembling on his knees in fear.

After the chasm, Wrath escapes into the woods and find the Furher and his Secretary standing on the beach. Proceed onto a conversation on the creation of a Homonculus (the result of a failed human transmutation) and then the Furher reveals that their on the trail of whoever performed the transmutation to create the rogue Homonculus and to deal with that person, since human transmutation is illegal. Ed and Al try to protect Izumi and say they don't know anything and run off to look for Wrath. It is then revealed that the previous conversation was a ruse to throw Ed and Al off the trail of Wrath, who was inside of Sloth's liquid body the entire time (the Furher was Envy, of course).

And that's where we've been left so far with Wrath....
In regards to those three in the movie...
Gluttony is apparently some mutated Monster, driven only by his hunger, while Wrath is all auto-mailed up. The two of them go at it and are use as sacrifices to open the gate. Wrath sacrifices himself willingly.

Meanwhile, Envy the Magic dragon is floating around our world until the Nazi sympathizers catch him.
ok i finally have a question

The names of the seven humonculi are based off the seven major sins but I dont understand how two are major sins

Sloth and Gluttony

i've got ideas of how those are sins but i want to make sure so could someone explain it?

This is slightly off topic and getting onto theological ground. That isn't a condemnation of you, but I'd appreciate it if everyone else would not respond. If you have more questions, ask me via PM.

Sloth is inactivity; a simpler term is laziness. Sloth can also be frenzied activity, working while accomplishing nothing. Either is a terrible waste of resources and is considered a sin. This is in keeping with Jesus' teachings, as he says that we will be accountable for all we could have done that we did not.

Gluttony is overindulging in anything (most frequently food). This is unhealthy for the body and generally is placing something higher than God. Thus it is a form of idolatry.

However, the list of the seven is not in the Bible, and these are neither all the sins nor necessarily the seven worst.
