Isstatic (and anyone else), please use spoiler tags -- if you don't know how this works, go here: http://www.christiananime.net/misc.php?do=bbcode

Even though the thread warns about potential spoilers, it's still common courtesy.

I don't know if what I said could be classified as a spoiler since I only noted that it was left open ended like Blakes7.

[SPOILER=Spiiiike...T.T] Ok. Spike is one of my favorite anime characters ever, but...I have to say, I don't think Bebop would have been so amazing if he had lived. The ending majorly impacted me when I first saw it...In fact, I still get goosebumps and a lump in my throat when I watch it now! I mean, after he just says "Bang." and falls over dead (yes, I believe he is dead), it's just...Wow. The music starts, the credits roll, and everything is perfectly done. I absolutely LOVE Bebop's ending, however sad it may be. Sometimes a sad ending makes everything so much better. And since Bebop was a (sort of) meloncholy anime to begin with, it seems a fitting end, in my opinion, at least. I still feel really sad for Faye-Faye, though...T.T[/SPOILER]

I think the answer is very clear and unambiguous.

[Spoiler] Note that when Julia died, her death was heralded by a flock of white birds flying over her. You don't see this symbolism elsewhere in the series except... in the very final scene, same flock of birds flying over Spike. Like authors, animators don't put in extraneous stuff in their productions...[/Spoiler]

That would have been the movie, I think. The only info I saw on a second series was the director saying he had been misunderstood and he had no intention to do a second series.

Hmm... This is kind of a no-brainer. At any rate it was an awsome ending.

I've googled this, and this is what I've gotten. First of all, there was a misinterpretation from what was said at Otakon in 2001, and people said that Mr. Kawamoto had given the word that there would be a new Cowboy Bebop series. However, a mod on the Otakon forums posted this:

"Mr. Kawamoto has seen this website and claims this is false information (I did not attend his panel, so I can't say for sure). Perhaps this person misinterpreted what was said, or maybe the translator inaccurately spoke. Either way, I was told to have this thread corrected by Mr. Kawamoto."

So, Kawamoto himself has stated there is NO sequel, prequel, or what-have-you for Bebop. Also on this board was another statement:

"Anime television series that are going to get more animation, either in TV or OAV/movie form, usually have that animation announced within about a year of the conclusion of the prior installment."

Since Bebop concluded a while ago, and there was no announcement for a sequel, it's safe to say that the Bebop anime universe is totally over.

No, I didn't misunderstand. Given that the article states:

"Some recent visitors to the Otakon convention in Baltimore, MD mistook what Mr. Kawamoto said. Many belived that a new Cowboy Bebop series was in the works. Set in the same universe as the original, but with new characters. This was a misscommunication."

As I said. NOTHING else will ever take place in the Cowboy Bebop universe, not even with brand new characters.

I understood what you said completely, and disproved it.
