A Heart like His

Postby true_noir_chloe » Thu Nov 20, 2003 11:39 am

I think Christianity runs in stages. First, you become a Christian because you’re running away from something - the depths of hell. You spend your life running and running and running until one day you discover you’re no longer are running away from something; but, to something. You realize you’re finally running into the arms of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You find that you’ve fallen head over heels in love with this One who has giving you everything. You exist and breathe because of His Word and life.

I’m running toward something now, and I hope I don’t stop until the day I am face to face with the One Who gave me life. Again, I’ve given my two cents. :)

This is a song/poem I wrote after doing a Beth Moore Bible study entitled, “A Heart like His.â€

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Do you have music for it? If not, do you want music written for it?

Very interesting. I like it a lot, and I think you have great potential with it. It reminds me of Ashley's sig.

Thanks Old Phil and Heaven's Cloud - huh, the two Gandolfs together.

I'd love for you to put music to it Old Phil. I haven't bothered to sit down and write any. I've been humming it in a key of Am for awhile. But, that's not really the music it needs. You're welcome to goof around with it. I have a song I'm actually working on and have the music down, but the lyrics keep failing me around the second stanza - it's called, "Overwhelmed." And that's not because that's how I feel these days. It's about how I'm overwhelmed by His love for me.

I was just wondering how, and what instrument would you like the song stuff written in. I can write something for a deep melody on my guitar if you'd like. I wouldn't have the right stuff to put it onto the computer for you to hear though. But I can try something.

Beautiful!

Ashley needs to see this... it does remind me a bit of her sig.

After all those comments I finally read Ashley's sig. I guess you're right. I had never even looked at it before. I assumed the writing was something from Trigun.

BTW, Heaven's Cloud, you're welcome to try out music on those lyrics/poem. I have no music for it right now. Just pm me if you do and then I'd love to hear what you come up with.

Thanks Old Phil! :jump: I'm sorry this is so late in coming, but my computer broke and it's still acting up; so, I hope this reply makes it.

I look forward to hearing your music. You're welcome to change the lyrics to fit also, don't worry. Thanks again.

Why didn't I notice this earlier? This is a beautiful poem True_Noir ^_^....I think it would make an even better song.

"Why do people not notice until they lose it?
What it is that's truly important...
Although I can't afford to forgive even myself,
Because you were there,
I was able to be myself (Natural).
I want to be honest...I want to be kind...
I want to be the adult I once (in my childhood) longed to be.
I go on fighting against the heart to run away...
I go on fighting against that invisible something!"
