Hi Starfire!!! Of course you can join!! Welcome to the Sakura/CLAMP Fan Club. You have officially joined with the status "Kero Cadet"! :jump: :jump: Hope you have fun here. Have you read much of the Tsubasa manga yet?

Oh, yeah, Shao. I know exactly what you mean. I get done reading CCS manga and my brain feels happily sugar-fied by the cuteness. Not a bad thing though.

I think volume 11 came out in japan recently. It's still going. Who knows how long it will eventually be. Maybe as long as X.

Old school CLAMP is all right with me, Starfire! :thumb: But if you enjoy the classics you'd probably enjoy Tsubasa. It's a series dealing with alternate universes in the CLAMP existence. Shaoran from an alternate universe (Kingdom of Clow) goes on a quest across dimensions to save his love, Princess Sakura. He is joined by Kurogane, Fai, and Mokona (!) and asasisted by space-time witch Yuuko (new character). As they cross dimensions searching for Sakura-chan's feathers of memory, they run into a bunch of classic CLAMP characters in new settings (alternate universe versions of the ones we know). It's romantic, action-packed, funny, and all-around great. And the art is tremendous, of course--very ethereal, stylized, and beautiful. Hope you enjoy it if you try it.

Tsubasa is definitely a great manga, in my opinion anyway. I also like some of CLAMP's older works (at least I believe they are older, i might be wrong, i'm kind of new to manga). I enjoy CCS and MKR, especially MKR season 1, i thought it had a great plot twist at the end and really was anxious to start season 2. But Tsubasa was the first manga i ever liked and it is definitely my favorite. It loosely ties in with X Holic, which i guess is an ok manga. By the way, the next volume of Tsubasa comes out soon this month in English!

Ah-hem.

I thought the twist at the end of MKR season one was a head slapper, but I still really enjoyed the series. I just bought the second season on sale, so I'm, looking forward to watching it.
for one thing, season 2 of the manga is only 3 volumes, but the anime season is 29 episodes, so there is a lot of extra material. The major change is the anime features two extra villians, Lady Debonair and Nova. (Lady Debonair was in Tsubasa!!! ^^) There is also a lot more character development for the three countries and their rulers, Alcyone comes back (she didn't die in the anime like she did in the manga), a certain character dies who lives in the manga, and the endings are very different.
I think the MKR season 2 anime is better than season 2 of the manga in everything except the ending.

Aaack! Sorry it took so long to post the results of the September Trivia Contest! We did not have any winners this month, but Rocketshipper was very close, just one answer off.

Here are the questions and correct answers, from Spirit_Wolf and myself:

What is the first spell Hikaru learns in the MKR manga? Fire Arrow (Flame Arrow?)
The Firey is which number out of the four elements that Sakura captures? third
What level is Syaoron's kudan in TRC? Special
What card does Sakura catch in the TV episode “Sakura’s Dizzy Fever Day”? The Cloud
What does Hikaru's full name translate to in MKR? Light of the Lion Shrine

Thanks for participating!

Where did you get the information on Hikaru's translated name? I don't remember them mentioning it in the manga, at least not in the original Tokyo Pop translation.

Actually, I'm not sure where the information came from! That was Spirit_Wolf's question, she developed it totally by herself, so I give her all the credit for a tough one but also the responsibility to remember where she got it! ;)
