scenario
Okay, say there was this singer, but the singer sang bad songs that people shouldn't listen to. Then you hear a song that a good song, but you find out it was being sung by that singer. Should you not listen to it? Is it kind of like supporting that singer? Or should you just listen to it anyway?

I would have no problems with that particular song. I think that it's possible to appreciate a song, or a novel, or a work of art while at the same time not agreeing with some of the artists views or personal behaviour.

Are you coming at the point of view where the singer has bad songs about bad stuff, but then makes a good song? Here's my point of view on that.
In the year of 1990-1994 Marilyn Manson covered a great song. Marilyn Manson sings bad songs that people shouldn't listen to, but covered a song caled Sweet Dreams are Made of This. The Arythmics (sp?) made the song first, then Marilyn Manson made a cover song of it. The song is good, but sung by a bad person. I don't listen to Marilyn Manson's song, only the Arythmics.
If the singer sings bad songs, but makes a good song I might listen to that song, but not any others. I wouldn't support this person, just listen to that song. If the song is good, and isn't about something bad, I would listen to it. But if it is bad I wouldn't. The person is bad, but is the song? No. So if the song isn't about something bad, and I liked it, I would listen to it. As simple as that.

yes I listen to oldies that are some times bad but that doesn't mean I shouldn't listen to the good songs just beacause the artist is some times *or most times* bad. same way in the world I'm sure most of you have non christian friends and somtimes you don't agree with them but that doesn't stop you from being they're friend does it?

I listen to a lot of secular music, and I don't seem to have a problem with it.
At one time I listened to ICP (Insane Clown Posse), but that is the only thing that I have ever felt I needed to stop listening to.
I suppose the only time when it would be a good idea to stop listening to the "bad" artists despite a few good songs is if they were right on the edge of changing their style to something better. Then, if you could organize enough people, it would be possible to influence the artist. However, that is obviously rare.
