It's not like the girls actually KISSED or anything, so I wouldn't really worry about it. The only real problem I saw was that Nancy COULD have been better dressed... but I did enjoy this anime. It had an interesting plot, and I can't wait for the TV series.

As For Read Or Die itself...
He he he, I'm sorry, but I still can't believe people actually thought The Paper and Miss Deep were gay. I know it was the big issue and the cause for alot of dispute, but actually from all the people whom have reviewed it (And there were alot, trust me) it seems only this forum seems to have gotten that expression. Just something to point out. as for me, I just think it's silly.
Anyways, I don't mean to open old scabs, but I'd at the least like to give my own perfessonal interpretation of The Papers and Miss Deeps relationship, for the sake of the anime. For me it was a big sister relationship, pure and simple. Anything otherwise interpretated would have most likely have been due to the fact that there where two Miss Deeps, and the Evil one might have acted more agressivley towards the Paper giving off what was most likely mis-interpretated as sexual tension or something.
But yeah, it was a big sister relatioship. It's even more obvious when
Nancy gives Yamiko the whereabouts of her own little sister. Hence making Yamiko the new big sister to look over Nancy's own little sister.
In fact I can take it even deeper (forgive the pun)...Nancy most likely was drawn towards Yamiko because of the fact that she was aware that she had a little sister, but wasn't able to see her because of her...job. Hence, she be-friended Yamiko to perhaps fill that emotional gap and somewhat fulfill her own duties of being a big sister.
As for Yamiko, well, she's a book worm, very few friends, very gentle nature, and lives her life in books. Having a Big sister suddenly dropped on you probably took her a while to adjust. So she was naturally more affectionate because of A: Gentle Nature and B: Most likely Nancy was the first real life Flesh and blood friend she's had in quite a long while so she clung to her in the hopes of not loosing her.
And thats mostly it, hum, kinda hard for me to believe no one picked up on all the visual symbols.
Anways just to get out of that whole thing in general, I still can be quoted in saying....THIS ANIME ROCKED! Regardless of what everyone else thought, I luved it. Dispite a cheesy plot and so forth, I'm a big fan of the old Superhero Genre as well as the James Bond and super spy genre as well, and this anime just had all those feels mixed into it and a groovey concept to boot. So what if it's cheesy, of hookey, so is Star Wars, Voltron, and Speed Racer if you seriously think about it. I really think we need more cheesy hokey anime out there, especially anime that tribute the classic genres.
But really, it was because of the fact that I didn't really need to read (once again, forgive the pun) into it or point out each little tiny detail to make sure if it was plausible or not that I enjoyed it even more. I just sat back, ate some raisenettes, and was entertained.
I mean, come on...evil Beethoven, a syphany of doom, green glowing microwavable samurai, a sword made out of money! How can you not luv this stuff! Seriously, we all got to loosen up some.
And as for the downing America stuff, if you really pay attention, The American government was apart of the Organizarion (It was International after all), one of the main entrances was located at the Lincoln Monument for crying out loud! As for the presidential refrence, once again I thought too much was read into it. (I seriously have to stop those puns) Lets face it, not all of our Presidents have been great role models now have they?

I am in 100% agreement with you Archan. That's exactly how I felt toward the movie. Great review, btw. 
I especially love the way it made me feel kind of like the James Bond genre too.

Hey Archan, can u do me a fave? I saw this anime in the store and i was wondering if there was anything bad in it. I thought it looked good but i wanted to make sure it wasn't bad. My parents like to make sure i don't watch anything bad so no demons or anything. Can you tell me anything you found wrong in the first disc? It would be mych appreciated.

waht does "just about no nudity" mean? anyway it seems like a cool anime, and i take that kids could watch it?

what do you mean by no demons or anything. really every anime has something bad from a christian perspective. This one is clean for the most part. But i mean, there are cloned humans, hating thy neighbors, and an unnatural power to control paper and phase through walls (powers reserved for god to be sure). so what do you mean?
Why does the business of growing up - one's recollections of growth itself - have to be so tragic? I still haven't found the answer. I doubt if anyone has. When I finally reach that stage at which the placid wisdom of old age, with the dry clarity that comes toward autumn's end, occasionally descends on a person, then I too may suddenly discover that I too understand. But I doubt whether, by that time, understanding will have much point.Yukio Mishima

Well, to answer the questions:
There is no nudity. One of the characters, Miss Deep/Nancy is almost always shown with a great deal of cleavage. There's some fan-service scattered about, but there is no nudity.
Demons ... (it's been a while so someone correct me if I'm wrong) there were no demons.
I guess I'd give it a 12+ to PG-13 rating if I had to. It's a little too intense for a PG rating at some points. I really don't remember a whole lot about it. Guess I should unpack it and watch it again sometime.

I'd agree, this is definitely a PG-13 rating. But, there is no nudity except for the opening credits where there is a bit of a geisha-looking gal who obviously is not dressed, but they show her back.
If you've seen the opening credits and music of a Bond film it is similar in the nudity of those. In fact, it would be very similar in content to any Bond film - which are usually PG-13.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Well, looks like the official stance is PG-13 then.

Imjust want to know what's in it so i cna judge if i should watch it or not. I'm pretty mature but there are certain things my parents don't want me (lots of nudity, demons) to watch so i want to obey there wishes.

Well, in all honesty, this one might not sit with your parents very well. I'd suggest you show them the review written for it, let them know that other Christians thought it should be rated PG-13 to R, and then let them decide.

Hmm the campus anime club is having a big showing of this...I belive I will have to check it out for myself see what's going on for myself.
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. The latest issue of Anime Insider as a feature on the complete Read Or Die Universe,including the Read Or Die OVA and the ROD The Tv series.Also it covers all the manga and novels.

I think while you're at it you should also review R.O.D.The Tv if you haven't done so yet since it's the sequel to Read Or Die.
From watching both,only seen up to ep.19 or 20 so far as that is as far as AU has taken it to date,it appears that Wendy has a bit of a crush on Joker.

It might then again I found it in the issue of Anime Insider I bought.They
had an entire article on the different aspects of the Read or Die universe.
