yeah, I know the feeling. Even outside of CLAMP stuff alone my wallet is suffering from all kinds of money-lacking torture. But then I guess it is even harder for me than some in that area because I can only make a certain ammount of money and I have two big interests (Anime and Superhero). But when DVDs and stuff for Tsubasa hit America I will definately be after them, and I want to start reading the manga for it too.

YAY!!! Bestanime.com is back. (or maybe they've been back and I just missed it) You should check out the cool music videos for X. one of them is the Double X video, the original music video that was animated before even the movie and the anime series.

The Angelic Layer thinpak boxset release is coming up on the 27th. It's for a good price, but I was wondering what I stand to loose by buying the extras-less thinpak version.

Any opinions?

Well, that fateful day has come for me. Last night I finished all 70 episodes of Cardcaptor Sakura. Now all that's left is Movie 2: The Sealed Card, which I ordered from Overstock (the Special Edition of course). After seeing the series I have a feeling of accomplishment since it was a big series and a must see, and I loved every bit of it, but I'm also sad that's it's all over. It feels like at most I should only be halfway through the series. It just flew by. But I have to say this is my 3rd favorite series of all time, behind Pocket Monsters and Ai Yori Aoshi. I enjoyed this series so much. Everything about it was great. The music was excellent, both song-wise and score-wise. I cannot wait to have the full version of the 3rd opening "Platinum" on CD. And score tracks, like "Premonition of Hope", practically bring tears to my eyes. The story also was excellent, and very gripping and exciting. I'm not so sure if the series had even one filler ep. It was very consistent and I loved every ep. The only part of the series I didn't enjoy was the fortune-telling scene (I think it was later in season 1). One of the best things is that the characters were incredible and top-notch. You need good characters for a good story and CCS excels here. They all had so much depth. They were like real people. Once I even had a dream about the characters being real and I knew Sakura. ^^ One of the most noteable things though is that the characters developed and matured more and more as time went on. Compare Sakura from the beginning of CCS to the end and you'll understand. But it wasn't just Sakura, all of them really matured. In fact it looked to me that many of the characters even looked like they had gotten older as time went on. But they were always the same loveable characters throughout the series. I could go on and on about what great characters CCS holds. It can't all be put into words, you have to see it yourself. Also, this series was one of the best, if not the best, that I've ever seen for doing the unexpected. Many parts are very unpredictable. It took alot of twists and turns that I never expected. But that's just another great apsect of the anime (and for the matter, the manga). And finally, my favorite thing about it is the many good messages it sends, many that can easily be linked with Christianity. I love Sakura's invincible spell. "Zettai daijoubu da yo" ("I will definitely be alright"). The greatest power we can have is faith. ^^ Friendship and love are also deeply preached. I was really moved by the end of season 2, when the Sakura sees the tragedy that would befall the world should she fail. It reminds us how lost the world would be without love. I also really, really loved ep 7 (I think it was 7), the one that deals with Nadeshiko, Sakura's mother. I loved the reference to heaven. I really loved Sakura's line about her mother not being alone after all (she's with God and many others in heaven ^^). I also loved the later ep when Fujitaka and Sakura's grandfather talk and it shows Nadeshiko looking down at them. This series just exceled in every good aspect. It's hard to imagine it being much better. CLAMP is pure genius. I'm getting the box sets as soon as they're out (though for money reasons I may have to wait until the holidays for the 2nd one), so I can relive the anime. CCS is simply a masterpiece, nothing less. I expected a good series, and got so much more.

I love Cardcaptor Sakura with a passion so strong that there are no words for it.
I loved the series SO Much and when I finished it I clapped for a long time. It was such an excellent series.
Sakura seemed so much braver by the end and Shaoran was also so awesome!
I don't want the series to ever end!
And I already miss that adorable Keroberos!!! T.T

Wow, that was a wonderful commentary on a wonderful show, Jeikobu! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it so much and even more that you saw aspects of the Christian faith in it. You should E-Mail your thoughts to the ladies at CLAMP. ^___^

Hi Eriana! Nice Kero-chan pics! Would you like to join the Sakura/CLAMP Fan Club? If you would, all you have to do is ask!

Termyt, I own the whole Angelic Layer anime series and really enjoyed it, more than I did the manga (which I still liked). They had some fun voice actor commentaries (a full episode long), I think one with each volume, that I enjoyed. I'm not sure if that's one of the extras you'd miss, or what the other extras are. Is there much of a cost difference?

I think the main extras were line art gallerys, credit-less opening and endings, and commentary tracks by the dub actors. Most of the commentary's are average, but two of them (Monica Rial and Kevin Korn; and Tiffany Grant and Tiffany Terrel) are hilarious. Monica and Kevin spend most of their commentary heckling their episode (Monica rocks!!! She was at NDK!!!) and Grant and Terrel are informative and amusing (Grant wrote the dub script)

YAY for CCS!!! The best anime ever!!

Thanks. I like commentaries. I have a lot to consider. There's a huge price difference, though. The thinpack set is like $50 instead of over $200.

Yikes! Been awhile since anyone has posted. Has anyone seen CLAMP No Kiseki vol. 4 yet? I wouldn't mind getting it, but I also want to get vol. 1 of the Matantei (?) Loki series when it comes out in Oct.

Anyway, I'm going to re-post the Trivia Contest for this month. I don't think I've gotten any responses yet. Is it a difficult one? Hope some members will rise to the challenge! ^___^

Sakura/CLAMP Fan Club Trivia Contest for September: Fire

1. What is the first spell Hikaru uses in the MKR manga?
2. What level is Syaoron's kudan in TRC?
3. The Firey is which number out of the four elements that Sakura captures?
4. What card does Sakura catch in the TV episode “Sakura’s Dizzy Fever Day”?
5. What does Hikaru's full name translate to in MKR?

Don't know about anyone else, but I was just lazy this month ^^. I'll do the quiz now.

Anyone else keeping up with Tsubasa?? I can't wait for the next few episodes. only 3 episodes left in season 1. The last episode had some awesome plot twists.

While I'm here, I might as well drop a quick piccy! :D Enjoy!

Hey Ruroni_Kaoru! Glad you discovered CLAMP. Tsubasa is my favorite CLAMP series but it's hard to deniy the charm of Cardcaptors and Angelic Layer. Both are excellent series with good stories and great art work.

Do you want us to recommend clean CLAMP animes or mangas, or both?

Angelic Layer is probably the cleanest of all the CLAMP series. In fact it's one of the only animes I'd give a G rating to. (most others seem to be PG or PG-13, in my opinion)

other good clean series:
CLAMP Scool Detectives
CLAMP School Defenders Dukylon
Man of Many Faces (I LOVE this one!)
Suki
The One I Love
Cardcaptor Sakura
Jessie and James, together forever!

Hi Kaoru! I'm so glad you're getting into and enjoying the wonderful world of CLAMP! Feel free to join the Club if you'd like, all you have to do is ask in a post! And thank you for the pretty pic! Sakura looks so cute! *Wishes he was Shaoran so he could huggle Sakura*

And Kaoru, termyt and Rocketshipper covered your question beautifully, I would just add that Cardcaptor Sakura is my personal favorite CLAMP manga (along with Tsubasa), and I would highly recommend it. All the titles listed are worth a look though.

Kisa, I'm with you. I can't wait for Tsubasa to be licensed so I can buy it! It will be one of those select few anime series I actually purchase instead of renting. ^___^

Awesome! Welcome to the Sakura/CLAMP Fan Club as an official member, Kaoru. Glad to have you! Your current status is a Kero Cadet. This is my hundredth post in the CLAMP thread! I must think of something worthy to write to mark this auspicious occasion. I know!

Something profound.

I heard that you should say something profound at occasions like this. So there you have it.

According to Amazon, October 27th is when Tsubasa volume 7 comes out.

I watched Tsubasa episode 24 today. It was AWESOME! The plot twist at the end of the episode really surprised me, I thought the I-1 Oni was going to be someone else. I wonder if we will find out more about the people Seishirou san is looking for in the next two episodes.
