there are some here are some very nice drawings here.
these are characters from the manga i'm working on; i don't know if they qualify as bishies, i'll let the bishie connisieurs decide...
the first one is Kinson Verdain, barbarian type fellow. my manga is going to be set in ancient roman times...
the second one is Azriel, an angel. this is an old design of 'him' so some things have changed, but i haven't drawn those changes, eh-heh
the third is Sorek, another angel.
1) How long have you been drawing
since i could hold something to draw with; anime style for about 4 years.
2) what is your hardest part to draw?
hands, foreshortening in the arms.
3) How did you conquer that difficultly (eg, I am having a real hard time of drawing hands, legs, feet and arms)
i tried using my own hands as examples, but tiny girl hands just don't work well for models for drawing man hands... ^^;;; i just need to be not as lazy to conquer my problems, practice/practice/practice
4) How did you come up with the idea for your own bishies (ie hair style, clothes, personality... anything!)
whatever happened to come out as i was drawing i start with a basic plan and whatever happens from there happens, i then adopt and adapt what i drew, as characters.
5) ... I'll think up later
1) Which do you usually determine first... the genre (eg fantasy) or the general plot?
general plot, genre is determined by whatever wierdness occurs during the deciding of the plot.
2) How do you develop your stories? EG: Do you start from the beginning and just write, or do you think up different scenarios you want in the story and play 'connect the dots/scenes?
i get a basic idea, where i want to begin, to end, and some stuff that i 'want' to have happen in between, and go from there, changing and adding as i go; so, connect the dots in a way.
3) How do you come up with names for your characters?
some are acronyms, like Lia Filgham (lost in adoration found in love, grace, hope, and mercy) others i look up in a dictionary i have that has Bible names in it, which works great, since it's similar era to when my story is set. i choose names based on their definition and verbal appeal. 'Azriel' means 'God's help'; 'Sorek' means 'noble vine.' for Kinson, i used a part of a name that i had liked from a book, and added a last name i liked that i made up.
4) Which character is your favourite?
Lia, the struggles she's going to go through are some that i go / have gone through or have seen very close friends go through.
5) How do you determine the personality of your character?
by what they are going to do in the story, the part they will play. for example, the emperor is evil (mean, nasty guy, has a god complex, and so on), i'm modeling him from the emperor in 'Gladiator,' since it is a similar way of being evil.
nice
