Ello to Everyone!

Postby CookinLikeSanji » Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:32 pm

Konnichiwa everyone!

I was quite suprised to have stumbled across a site and forum full of Christian anime lovers. Needless to say it's a pleasure to become part of this place.

First off, my name is Evan. I'm not Christian, I'm Catholic, but most of my beliefs are much more Christian-like if anything (No praying to Saints or anything of that sort), that's how it pretty much is with all my family (We're a weird bunch).

I've always been a huge fan of anime ever since I saw Dragon Ball Z, the action, the humor, the drama, I was pulled in and I couldn't get out (Not that I really wanted to).

I currently reside in Anaheim, CA where I'm studying Game Art and Design at Westwood College. Most of my time is spent drawing, gaming or (of course) watching anime. I'm an 18 year old male caucasian who's slowly beginning to resemble Sanji from One Piece (Hence the name), really just need to grow my hair out more and I'll be set.

As you've probably already guessed my favorite anime is One Piece, I'm completely enthralled with that show (Subbed of course...Dubbed voices make my ears want to swell shut). A few other favorites of mine are FMA, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent (Despite it's weirdness) and Azumanga Daioh.

I look forward to become a large part of the community here at CAA.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't regard yourself as Christian, being Catholic, but let's not open that can of worms (a gentle but firm mod request to those who will also reply to you).

Regardless, welcome! Hajimemashite.

Well I suppose I did word that part a bit poorly!

In regards to being a true believe in Christ, then I'm 100% Christian. But in terms of my background and heritage I'm Catholic. Sorry for the little mixup on that part ^_^; But I definately would consider myself a believer in Christ, therefore a Christian. So I believe you can disregard that part.

You go to Westwood? How is it there? I want to go into VG stuff too, so I thought maybe you could tell me about it.

By the way, welcome to CAA, I'm Yokuo. If you ever want someone to talk to, I'm only a PM away!! :)

Westwood is fantastic. Interactive classes (None of those boring lecture halls), school 3 days a week so you have plenty of time for jobs/homework/*coughanimecough*. Plus most programs are three years, although no summers off...

If you plan on getting into the industry though, definately consider Westwood. Great people and a great environment. Plus we like to whip out the PS2 and play Soul Calibur in the lobby on breaks in between classes

XD that's awesome. I had considered either that or ITT Tech. So, no summers off?

Yeah, no summers off, but it's really not all that bad. 4 days a week off with vacation time for Christmas and other holidays isn't half bad. I've got a five day weekend coming up after tomorrow, so I'm pretty psyched about that.

Got some catching up to do on One Piece and World of Warcraft. Time that will be well spent during those five days.

And how is this show? I have seen some of the director's other works (Millennium actress, Perfect Blue), so I had been wondering whether this one is any good.
