In some ways it's easier, like using a light pen. I have a Graphire2 tablet for my Mac, and I'm still getting used to it, whereas here I can just draw on the screen
(Part of the problem is not having a good, easily visible cursor in Photoshop to track the pen position. I'm getting used to Painter Classic instead.)
I have a light pen for my Commodore 64, which is the same kind of interface (and, ironically, 320x200 so it's nearly the same kind of lo-res issues), so I wanted to get one for the Mac, but light pens just aren't made in large quantities anymore (let alone for the Macintosh). There's a Cintiq LCD monitor-and-pen package that Wacom makes, but I don't like the colour fidelity of most LCD screens enough yet ... and it was mega-expensive.
