Cute, yes (catgirlz!!!), but some of the editing stuff makes it a little irritating (like the whole "Mew Mew Power, Mew Mew Grace..." thing).

Ichigo=Zoey
Mint=Corina
Lettuce=Bridgett
Kiki=Pudding
Renee=Zakuro
Ryou=Elliot
The other guy is Keichiro I think. This is a list from Japanese to English names. Crap on 4Kids for ruining this anime. It was already clean as it was. Shame I probably won't see it uncut for a long time. Well at least the manga was done right. (Tokyo Mew Mew is better than Sailor Moon, much more original with the defending and preserving nature thing!)

oh and Dren on the show is really Kish in the books

Dren= Kish
Where is the Remaining Spring?

Am I doomed to wonder? Forgotten? Alone?

It'd be all like:
"Hey! You want to come over tonight?"
and they'd be all like:
"Sure! Where do you live?"
And we'd be all like:
"You know that Bio-dome out alittle west in the woods?"
And they'd be all like:
"...:shady: Yeah...?"
We'd say:
"There!"
Then they would slowly back away while we are all like:

Dren scares me to death, at first I couldn't tell if he was a boy or a girl. Then I discovered that HE was in love with Zoe and then I starting thinking he was gay (Tokyo Mew Mew reminds me of Sailor Moon which has that homosexuality issue)...until someone said "he" talking about him and I was relieved. But what's with the voice and the clothes and the pigtails?! (He's got a cute face tho')

I throw poo at 4Kids. Mew Mew's edit may have been bad, but they literally butchered One Piece. -_-

Oh, I enjoy watching Mew Mew Power(Yes, the 4kids dub, awful as it may be) I used to get up and record an episode evey saturday, but then when summer started, my sleeping schedule got all messed up, so I haven't seen it in a while, but now that school will soon be in session again for me, I'll probably start watching it again. I don't exactly consider it a masterpiece, so I guess that's why I don't mind the 4kids dub, but I think it's a fun series. Zoey is funny and Renee is
hot, and Bridgett is pretty cute, too. All in all, fun to watch series, even with the 4kids dub.

Cute, yes (catgirlz!!!), but some of the editing stuff makes it a little irritating (like the whole "Mew Mew Power, Mew Mew Grace..." thing).

While I agree with you that catgirls are AWESOME, I thought the Mew Mew chant thing was pretty catchy. Oh well, that's just me.

Well, I didn't mind it the first couple of times (and it was pretty funny when Mint/Corina asked if she was going to do that every time), but after the twelth time it got a litte annoying to me. -_-

How can it be more original than the show it's copying?

I have to say, although skeptical at first, I really like Mew Mew. It's a lot of fun. I doubt it will surpass Sailor Moon in my addled mind, but it's really cute.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. Tokyo Mew Mew and Sailor Moon aren't the only "magical girl" anime out there. IMO, these types of shows are a genre in their own right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Sailor Moon the show that started magical girl anime? I have seen plenty of magical girl anime that are newer than Sailor Moon, but never any that are older. So if Sailor Moon was the first magical girl anime, that would make it like the Mobile Suit Gundam of magical girl anime, the show that started the genre. IMO, isn't saying Tokyo Mew Mew is a ripoff of Sailor Moon because it has girls with magical powers and such, like saying Macross is a ripoff of Gundam because they both have mecha? Tokyo Mew Mew and Sailor Moon are similar and use the same basic formula, but there are some significant differences in their storylines. If you like Sailor Moon better, that's fine, it is an enjoyable series, but I personally prefer Tokyo Mew Mew. Okay, I'm done ranting.

No need to apologize for having a different opinion than me and you are perfectly free to rant, but you missed my point entirely. I said nothing of rip-offs. I said it copies Sailor Moon and it certainly does. My point was that I doubt a show that follows in the footsteps of another can be said to be "more original" than the original.

Macross is not a rip-off of Gundam, but it is not more original than it, either.

Which ever show you like better is immaterial to that show's claim to originality.

By the way, I just want to reitterate - I love Tokyo Mew Mew. I most certainly am not trying to deminish it at all. The little monkey girl is my favorite.

Oh, okay, sure. I see what you're getting at. Yeah, I too enjoy both series, but I prefer tokyo Mew Mew. Both are enjoyable series, though.

Tokyo Mew Mew is an excellent anime, one of my favorites. But please, take the dub, and burn it. ^^; The manga is also excellent, and thankfully that wasn't butchered when it was released here.

I got hooked on the manga only because of the ad on Tokyopop with a cat girl and bright pink cover^^ Manga was great! Then I started watchign the show in subs... seriosuly I don't find the show even un-cut to be all that great, but I wuv watchign it for the bright colours @_@ Bright colours like to stimulate my mind...

*cough* But anyhow the manga's getting better IMO with a La Mode^^ Gets darker... too bad they never made an anime for it, but then again it IS only 2 volumes long (boo-hoo!) My beloved TMM is ending with the last manga out... next month :/

Your avvie's from a La Mode, right? Isn't she suppose to be some sort of rabbit-cat girl?

She's half rabbit, half cat, and half human. How can you be half three things? I don't know, but that's what the manga says. Methinks the manga-ka got bad grades in math.
