Something I've seen pop up alot is about super-long series and fights that "drag" on. Unfortunately, this seems to be something my favorite anime, One Piece, is slightly guilty of. However, form what I've seen so far, when the fights go on for several episodes, there tends to a purpose in it instead of simply showing two characters charging up and shouting at each other a la DBZ.
I've yet to see the later episodes of this series, so I'm not sure how well that works out. For anyone who's seen them, does it follow the usual "dragging-ness" or does it actually manage to play out everything well? I really must now, especially if I plan on getting this entire series. XO

There is - however, I think the fact that the voice actors are chosen by the directors/creators of the original anime cuts down on this substantially. I've heard bad acting in subs and I'veheard bad acting in dubs, but I don't think the dub companies always know the intentions of the original creators.

So true...

- Boys who let their girlfriends hit them.
- Lying as a socially acceptable excuse for saving face.
- The notion that couples who fight over petty isues must actually love each other.
- Stammering or chickening out when it comes to discussing your feelings for someone.
- Guns that never run out or jam.
- Chibi critters who comminicate in yips and yaps which must be translated by a
'normal' person for the rest of the group to understand.
- Use of Christian or Jewish symbols to initiate magical effects.
- Shonen who say 'Zettai tsuyoku nareee!' or anything of that ilk.
- Excessive use of the Gainax bounce
- Panty shots

1] DUBBING. *shivers*
2] when the only girl in the anime is annoying, girly, helpless, and weak.
3] when fanfics and fanart attack the animes and create yaoi pairings... X[
4] the plots start slowing to make more episodes or to extend a paticular exciting event into 5 oh-my-freaking-goodness-when-is-this-going-to-end episodes.
5] bad fillers.
6] predictable endings
7] endings that dont really end

thats it... for now...

1. Slapstick. (Super deformed; chibi; ect.) Most of the time it's overused and looks rediculous.

2. 90% of romantic comedies being Tenchi clones.

3. The dreaded hot springs episode.

4. Overly perverted characters.

5. The guy that wrote the Nadia movie. He needs to die.

I really really like anime, but there are a few things that really bug me:

1. The use of God's Name as a common swear-word (both sub and dub)!
2. Fanservice
3. I don’t know if I’m putting it correctly but, the miss-representation or miss-use of the Christian faith. My big problem is not that non-christians have a wrong idea of our faith (that doesn't surprise or shock me), but rather that they express their own views in such a way that many who watch the shows and don't know better won't know the difference. If they can’t keep it true, they should leave it alone.
4. Pervert Characters
5. Nudity and those pointless shower/hot spring scenes
6. Cussing

On a lighter note:
1. Have you ever watched an anime where you really get into the story and the characters, and then suddenly (normally in the last six or so episodes) everything just falls apart, absolute chaos ensues and your character friends start dying?
2. Fight scenes that span more than 10 episodes (DBZ!)
3. Villains who just won’t die (DBZ!)
4. Characters who never learn their lesson (Vegeta DBZ!)
5. Guns that never run out of ammo or characters that seem to have an endless supply of ammo in their back pocket
6. The fact that there isn’t a single anime on South African TV!!!

Those who frequent DragonBall Z and/or Inuyasha will know what i'm talking about:

The NEVER ENDING BATTLES! DragonBall Z is infamous for battles that go on and on and on for months before any resolution is made...and when there IS a resolution, low and behold, THE ENEMY COMES BACK STRONGER THAN EVER! JUST GO QUIETLY INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Those who watch Inuyasha will know my next pet peeve to the letter. Other than the frequent, repeated, and quite annoying shouting of the title character's name by Kagome (and vice versa), I swear, if I hear one more character talk about detecting/sensing/or feeling a barrier, jewel shard or demonic aura, I'm going to swear off Inuyasha! EVERY EPISODE Someone detects a barrier, senses a jewel shard, or senses a demonic aura!
