 The one with "Takato-mon" was Digimon Tamers, the third season.

And MSP....T_T; That totally made me cry, too.

I can't remember tamers much at all, which is strange because it was main season I watched. I got into the first season halfway through, watched it on reruns over summer break while watching season two and then got into tamers. I think I only missed a few episodes all season, but I can't remember much of the details.

And for the life of me I can't picture Alice... *stabs brain* I loved Juri and beelzemon though.. that was his name right?! AHHHH *stabs brain*
But Juri bugged me being so emotional whiny annoying after Liomon died...
=_=;;

Ohh I hated that part too msp T___T

"TAKATOMON!!!" ^.____.^
(that's suppose to be Guilmon up there, not a foxy)

Kawaiineko, about your spoiler post:

Jeri wasn't just whiney then. She went downright nuts. Part of the reason had to with:
Her being possesed by the D-Reaper.
And the whole puppet thingy later freaked me out, too. O_O

No way!! I TOTALLY forgot about the puppet and the other thing! Wow... just too much to remember for the one series. I remember how creeped out people were from the silly puppet :/ Guess their fear was later realized...

Jeri was doing the freaky sock puppet thing way before she became
Lionmon's tamer.Remember in the first ep.Guilmon Comes Alive she's
shown entering the classroom with the sock puppet and when she leaves
she uses it to tell Takato to get his assignment done.
Personally I think she was overly shy which is why she had the puppet.

Rika turns up as the narrator of the final season(Digimon:Frontiers).
Davis narrates Tamers. :thumb:

Yeah, I know she had the puppet, but when she
got possesed by the D-Reaper
she spent half the time just staring at it, moving the mouth, then started acting all psycho. Then when she revealed the D-Reaper and the hand busted out, I kinda flipped. I was like "Whoa. That's reall freaky." O_O
Season 3 has two of the most awesome moments ever.
1. Beelzemon getting his giant gun and rushing to help.
2. Gallantmon Crimson Mode. 'Nuff said.

I think that they could have had at least one more season following Frontiers.
I mean it would have been interesting if they could have done something with
Gotsuhara and the others that they met. There certainly would have been an
interesting storyline there.

Oh man, Jeri and the puppet... that was so creppy, but SO well done.

I don't know all the detailes, but yeah, it's the same character, but the Ryo in tamers isn't the same Ryo in 02, same character design, not the same person. Ryo came from a digimon video game in japan. Aparently he was there and stopped a bad guy called Millenniumon. *thats the guy being destroied in the flash back Ken has when he got the dark spore in his neck* The Ryo character from the video game was so popular that the creaters desided to put him into the Tamers season.

Yeah, I know it's the same character, but I've heard people say that it's literally the same individual. :eyebrow: Since these same people say Jeri was a ghost, I question that theory too.

3. The massive D-Reaper thing they had to fight (the one with Jeri's voice).

It probably wasn't as popular enough to get more than one (that, or it could be in the works :D ).

I doubt is meant to be the same one. It's more like having the character Cid in every Final Fantasy game.

Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall

About Jeri..
and the d-reaper possession... Wasn't it able to posess her because she was so whiney and depressed and vulnerable? If my memory serves, that's why she annoyed me in that moment so much.
Tamers was a great series. More grown up maybe?

Kawaiineko,
Yeah, basically, but that was do to the fact that
Leomon had just died, putting Jeri into a fit of serious depression, which she never seemed to get over. Recall when Beelzemon tried to rescue her later on? Jeri was so depressed that she didn't even try to escape.
That's a good way of putting it. I think it took itself a lot more seriously than any of the other seasons. It also seemed less fantasy oriented than the others; more Sci-Fi. All good things in my book.

I just rented Digimon World 4 from Blockbuster (since everything else either looked stupid, badly made, or would take too long for a rental).
At first, I thought I had made a mistake in renting it, but after playing for awhile it gets to be pretty fun.

I made to Apokarimon, who's the fourth boss (What the crap?!), but then I died and wasted about 40 minutes of game time trying to reach him. -_-

Still, despite the fact that some of the enemy designs were terribly done, it's a pretty good game for Digimon fans (and much better than the past DWorld games have been).

Took me a sec to figure out who "Apokarimon" is and I'm like "ooooh Apocalymon!" I think the cards and show had a different spelling of his name but that's the roomanji of it. It SHOULD be spelled "Apocaly" though because that's what the Japanese were tryign to say... oy with roomanji :/

---------------------
QUESTION
---------------------

So I also remembered about the Digimon manga (my bad, manhwa is it spelled?) series that Tokyopop came out with and... wasn't too happy that they used the dub names rather than a straight translation (they do that alot with the "younger kids" anime-into-manga, don't they? Sailor Moon and Beyblade and Pokemon for example). Just wondering if anyone's got ahold of these and how they compare to the actual anime... might concider them, but the whole not translating correctly (unlike CCS) still bugs me... It just seems to be the only way of getting Digimon licensed :/ Oy... (Yeah I know about the VHSs but I'm not including those^^)

I've got the first volume of Tamers, and it's pretty much a straight adaptation of the anime. Pretty well done, though.

Alas, I haven't been able to find any other volumes for a while. Both the places I'd seen them before closed down. :(

I have the first two of season one and the 2 of season 2. I enjoy them, it's good because I don't have caible to watch the shows, but they cut out a lot of stuff. The seconed season manga is only 2 volumes, TWO! It cuts out a lot of the story but it holds me over.

Yeah, I would have said "Apocalymon" but it actually had it spelled out as "Apokarimon". "Apocaly" may have been what they were going for, but "Apokari" has this cool little sound to it. ^_^

Only you would actually watch that, Ryan. But that does soulnd pretty scary. I saw part of Frontier in Japanese, and I thought it was a lot better than the English version. Then again, isn't that how it is with every anime?

 I prefer the subs much more than the dubs. I was amazed to see how much the dialogue was changed between the two, especially for the movie release here in the US.

And Paku Romi is in the Digimon Adventure 02 cast. That's enough for me. x3

IMO Rika in the NA dub has the perfect voice. What I mean is that she's a bit of a loner to begin with and also a tad bit arrogant when she's first introduced in
Tamers. The NA VA does a perfect job of bringing this aspect of her character out.

I will admit that while I'm... not particularily happy with the dubbing, a lot of the characters actually had pretty good character-suiting voices. A lot of them were pretty good... some WERE rather annoying though. (Tentomon's voice is... :/ either way really). Soem voices are good both ways, some have the orginal better than dub, vice versa. It's more just... the actually dub dialog and taking out all the good songs with Digirap and so forth. :/ They made 02 one big joke fest practically... never knew the actual dialoge was so... serious. Made the show better almost.
