I beleive the network said something about NGE on Oct. 6th or 7th last night. I'm pretty sure that's what it said, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, that why I don't read AS schedule that much. I look at it and what ANN puts up to make sure that I have the right schedule.

But we all know how CN is and they can change this thing on us in a heartbeat.

* Edit: Look what I found just as I typing this and looking up ANN at the sametime.

Quoted from ANN.

Escaflowne: The Movie will be shown at 12:00 midnight on September 10th as a special on Cartoon Network.

Rurouni_Kaoru wrote:I beleive the network said something about NGE on Oct. 6th or 7th last night.

If they did change it. Oct 6th would be right, since it's a Thursday night. AS has said that they are going to show NGE on a Thursday night.

But like I said in my part of this post. They have a bad thing for changing things on us really really fast.

"Barbed Wire Biscuit"... interesting title for the block. I wonder if they're removing Anime from the name to allow them to expand their programming later on. (Hopefully not.)

It is good to see that G4 is trying to give their anime block a little more of a push by bumping it up to midnight, though.

As for AS, AdultSwim.com and Toonzone both have us keeping the current Saturday lineup through 8/20, when the final ep of Paranoia Agent is set to air. AS.com did have a movie listed as running on 8/27 (presumably either the 2nd Inyasha or Escaflowne), though that's been removed. Actually right now they're showing the M-W lineup for that Saturday, so it's unknown exactly what they're going to do on 8/27. They probably haven't decided for sure themselves. So we shall see what plays out, God willing.

EDIT: My bad on FLCL; the finale ran on 8/13. But the PA finale is still set to run on 8/20.

I think now that I think about it that Barbed Wire Biscuit is the name of a new
SERIES and not the name of the late night block.Or I could be wrong. We shall see.
G4 is also adding Fast Lane or whatever it's called to it's Whip Set Sunday line up.
Also AS added Inuyasha to Thursday so we get an extra ep. each week.Currently
it's Inuyasha,Fullmetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop M-W and Inuyasha,PAranoia
Agent and s-CRY-ed Th.

I happened on a special "Barbed Wire Biscuit Preview" this week. (I've been trying to tape Last Exile's late run, but one night this week they ran the BWB preview at that time. So I figured it might give me the skinny on what's up...)

It looks like Barbed Wire Biscuit is going to be G4's answer to the entire Adult Swim lineup, including US-produced comedy and live-action puppet vignettes as well as anime.

The anime portion will still be known as Anime Unleashed, and as mentioned, will premiere with Raxephon and Colorful.

The anchor show for BWB will be Happy Tree Friends & Friends, based on the online cartoon series but also featuring some new animation shorts. (Anyone familiar with the Happy Tree Friends cartoons knows it has a lot of twisted violence, and with the crude language and humor in some of the other shorts I wouldn't be shocked to see HTF & Friends get slapped with a TV-MA rating.) The most promising new show was Brainiacs, a live-action comedy-science reality show. BWB will also contain Cinematech: Noctural Emissions, which looks to be a more comedic but somewhat racier version of G4's Cinematech program.

Overall, the BWB Preview didn't impress me too much. Of the new shows, the show with about the least objectionable material was Brainiacs, and even that had its racy moments. And Colorful doesn't give me much confidence in the direction they're trying to go on the anime side of things. It seems they're just taking the racy route to try and get some of Adult Swim's ratings while delivering a sub-par product. :shake: Of course Spike TV tried with their animation block a few years ago, and that didn't last long.

For anyone interested in seeing the BWB Preview, it is set to run again on August 19, as well as several times during the week leading up to BWB's premiere.

Ok,so it is the entire late night block.I was confused on that since I only saw it
once and then turned off G4.
Are they keeping AU on the same time as usual? That would be 1 a.m. Eastern
and 10 p.m. Pacific.I can't see them moving it any later since it's more or less
the perfect time for it.
Raxephon I have heard good things about on the other hand..Is there anyone
who has anything good to say about Colorful?
I remember when Spike Tv tried their animation deal too. That was right after they
switched their name from TNN to Spike. One of the shows was an adult verison of
Ren and Stimpy and another was Stripperella starring Pamela Anderson.I forget
what the other show was called.
I give them about six months before the whole thing collapses on them and they
decide to go back to the original programing.

ugh...HAppy Tree Friends? EEK... My friend made me watch a couple of episodes of that... I gotta tell yah, NASTY!!! It is basically a bunch of cute happy looking critters maiming each other.... *shudder* I made me want to barf when Iwatched them...

Colorful sounds....eeeeeek... that ismy word for scary/risque'

And I heard that the new Cinematech show is VERY lewd...

Btw, is anyone going to watch that special G4 is going to have on the more risque' stuff in video games and what the governement might do? I might... if only to see if they government might acutally take the high ground and stop all that icky stuff from getting into the video games...

this may be off topic..but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw an 8 year old play GTA...

Not sure. They didn't actually mention any times in the preview, other than that the whole block would start at Midnight ET. They mentioned AU 3rd in the preview (after HTF and Brainiacs), making it sound like it would still be on at 1AM. But Wingzero mentioned AU running at midnight earlier in this thread, and of course it used to run at midnight, back in the TechTV days.

Of course if they're anything like Adult Swim, they could change their minds half a dozen times between now and the 29th. :dizzy:

mitsuki lover wrote:I give them about six months before the whole thing collapses on them and they decide to go back to the original programing.

Unless they significantly change the content between now and then, that's probably about right. I think Spike's only lasted about 2 months. They tried making a comeback with Stripperella for a few weeks, running it after WWE Raw, but even in that cushy timeslot it bombed pretty quickly.

As for G4, about the only thing that might help it run longer than Spike's is that because of their smaller coverage, they don't have as much to lose from poor ratings as AS or Spike would. But still, I don't look for it to be a rousing success.

Hopefully they'll pull the garbage, and future new AU acquisitions will be more in the vein of Raxephon and Last Exile, rather than Colorful.

Agreed. A friend of mine showed me some Happy Tree Friends too. No offense to those who like HTF... I'm not much to get too grossed out about cartoons]And I heard that the new Cinematech show is VERY lewd...
I wouldn't be surprised; I couldn't tell a whole lot from the preview. They did have one montage from what appeared to be a Japanese wrestling game, which was worth a chuckle. But they also showed a montage from some kind of game that looked like one of the features was creating the perfect woman physically or something like that, and not too much was left out. Everything that was there was fairly undetailed, but still it was a bit much.

The best way of getting them to show more shows like Raxephon is to have
everyone watch when it's on and then turn off when Colorful airs.Perhaps they
might actually get the message?

I've heard Colorful is basically a bunch of shorts of guys trying to get panty shots and just get a peek at some female cleavage. How ridiculous is that? I mean that's even stupid as far as anything goes for it to only center on something so retarded as that.

I fear for our country if a network feels that they need to bring Cartoon Porn (or any for that matter) to their lineups... I mean it is bad enough watching Commercials for things like that...(G4) but...COME ON!!

I saw the announcement at Animenation News and they said it will reair at
3 a.m. the 28th.I wish that it were 3 p.m. though as that would be nicer.

Also are the times for BWB just Eastern or is it also Pacific?
Usually they list it like 1 a.m. Eastern/10 p.m. Pacific.

Some more news on Barbed Wire Biscuit... Apparently it's not even a full programming block, as one would think of such. It's only one hour a night, usually (but not always) two eps of the same show back-to-back.

The programs are set to run at midnight Eastern and repeat at midnight Pacific.

I don't know if this will be the regular schedule, but here is at least the first week (Aug. 29-Sept. 2, per G4tv.com, plus what I gleaned from some other TV listings sites):

Monday: Brainiac
Tuesday: Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions
Wednesday: Happy Tree Friends (Midnight)/Cinematech: NE (12:30 - repeat of Tues. Mid.)
Thursday: Brainiac (new episodes)
Friday: Anime Unleashed

(BTW, the name of the show is Brainiac, not Brainiacs, which I realized after re-watching the preview ;) )

Attack of the Show gets bumped to 1AM Eastern, with a repeat on Tuesday-Thursday nights (Wednesday-Friday mornings) at 4AM.

For now, Rahxephon was the only new AU show listed on the schedule. AU-Rahx is also set to repeat on Sunday night/Monday morning (Sept. 4/5) at 4AM Eastern.

Wow!That was as clear as mud.
So does that mean that AU is now on only one night a week?
What are they having on at 10:00(pacific) if they're only doing it one day a week?
If G4 is doing it this way I think they'll loose the anime viewership fast since a lot of people are going to be tuning in on the 29th and not knowing the change in
schedule.
Hmmm...well..if AU's not going be on 10:00 any more guess I'll be watching
more of Shinzo or else One Piece.

Sorry about that... Let me try to explain this a little more clearly ]So does that mean that AU is now on only one night a week?
Sort of... Anime Unleashed will air in BWB only on Friday night, Midnight Eastern/9PM Pacific with a repeat at 3AM Eastern/Midnight Pacific.

AU will also run Sunday night (which is also Monday morning, depending on how you want to look at it) at 4AM Eastern/1AM Pacific, but this is just a repeat of the programs that aired Friday night.

Note that all of this is just based on schedule that has been published for the first week BWB runs, August 29-September 4. I have not yet seen a schedule beyond that.

What are they having on at 10:00(pacific) if they're only doing it one day a week?

Attack of the Show! gets the old AU timeslot of 1AM Eastern/10PM Pacific Monday through Fridays.

In the old AU repeat timeslot of 4AM Eastern/1AM Pacific, G4 plans to run various programming. Some nights it's a repeat of Attack of the Show!, others it's a special.

If G4 is doing it this way I think they'll loose the anime viewership fast since a lot of people are going to be tuning in on the 29th and not knowing the change in schedule.

Agreed. If you've seen the BWB Preview special, they're promoting the new AU shows as part of the block, but they're certainly not doing much to say when they will actually air. In a way I'm glad that they're only running the new stuff one night a week; 10+ new episodes a week was a bit much to keep up with. But I wish they would maybe rerun some of the old stuff in the old timeslots.

Hopefully this is a bit clearer. :thumb:

Ok I was at Animenation earlier today and they had a link to G4 talking about the new line-up.On the G4 site they say that Rahxephon is premering Sept.2 with
Cromartie High School and Colorful scheduled for some time around December or so.
They had it "fan favorites..."
Ah,correct me if I'm wrong but the last time I looked there didn't seem to be that many people who were exactly pounding down G4's doors to get Colorful on the air.
