Digimon 02: Revenge of Diaboromon

Postby Blitzkrieg1701 » Sat Aug 06, 2005 7:12 am

So, this probobly would have made more sence to post a few days BEFORE, but Jetix just aired a recently dubbed Digimon movie "Revenge of Diaboromon" this weekend. It's a sequel to "Our War Game" (aka the middle part of "Digimon: The Movie") and I thought it was very impressive! Any other lonely, neglected Digimon fans out there see it?

I've seen all 7 movies... made a fan fic of that 4th movie and it was surprisingly somewhat close (before I saw it).

It's wasn't too bad, but I think the best part of the whole thing was the OST.

Wow! I want to see it! I've wanted to see that thing for. . . um, an affinity!

Okay, I guess that's a little embarrassing, but despite having pushed past the "[insertprefix]mon stage" of my fandom, I still hold a fold place in my heart for digimon.

Is it on DVD or something?
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." 8D YES! So this one's based off the 02 season as well? Freakin' sweet - I'm still a big Digimon fangirl, and I can't wait to see more of my favorite season.

It was really a mini-movie since it only ran for 45 minutes.
Not enough Sora was the only thing. :shady:
Too bad they didn't show the first movie and then later on aired this one
has there were certain things that were different from the series:
*Ikkokumon and Agumon can Warp DNA Digivolve
*More people are now aware of the Digidestined and know what Digimon
are(they seem to talk like everyone had seen the previous battle on the
internet)
*The Digidestined can now enter the Internet as well as the Digital World

Is it on DVD or something?

Nope. So far the movie has only aired twice and with no word of a DVD release.

Personally though, I was highly disappointed with the soundtrack of the dub. In the original, the music was so much better! I especially loved when Daisuke and Ken yelled for their digimon and Target began playing. But no. What did we get? Some really sappy music with that annoying Frontier evo music. x_x Not pretty.

The fact Jousha Seth didn't return to replay his parts kinda disappointed me too. Digimon without Josh just isn't the same. =/

Otherwise though, I was quite happy about two things. They showed it in it's original format (not stretched to fit the tv) and they actually used the Japanese logo.

*re reads the topic more carefully* Wait a minute... they actually DUBBED the movie and aired it? (Thoguht it was a fan dub or soemthign at first^^)! Thought Disney or whoever is dubbign it now forgot the fact that there's 7 movies, not just 3 (which they horribly stuck into one :/)

Ever since I started watchign the orginal version, I never realized just how bad the dub actually is! the whole thing of 02 dubbed was a joke, whereas in the orginal version, everything was played out to be more serious...

I'm hoping ONE day a company will release box sets of the series and movies :/ The show is just NOTHING unless you've heard AiM and everythign else with it!

If I had known it was on, I woulda watched it. Season 1 and 2 were the bestest. I love Digimon.

Yeah Dejimon is still good and if I find stuffage on it, I'll watch it. Sooo hard to find though! Tamers WAS a good season, but I never did get to see the entire thing of it. Both seasons of Adventure were classic though. One dude made a music video using Bokura no Digital World and used clips from the two seasons. If I could find that again... if I could see that again it would SO make me wanna watch the whole series again (ORGINAL of course).

Well, just watched this myself. I was a baad girl and got it fansubbed....>.>

I do admit, the first movie (the first with Diaboromon) was a bit better, but oooooh, Ken and Daisuke's presence in this one made it oh so wonderful. I'm very glad they didn't sandwich it together with any of the other movies - I thought it was just fine on its own. ^__^

I loved Tamers! It was definitely my fave of the bunch, although there were alot of things that I liked about 02 as well. I really hope I'll be able to see the third season movies some day. I think Guilmon, Renamon, Impmon and all their forms are teh awesomeness ^_^

Wow! Digimon fans comming out of the woodwork!

Well, I personally liked "Revenge of Diaboromon" a lot. The story was pretty simple, but it made sence for the most part (those clips at the end from the very first movie were kind of nonsensical, though). The fights all look great too. The shakky, handheld camera look when Diaboromon and Omnimon fight in the real world was a nice touch.

A few gripes: Why oh WHY did they reuse the Frontier theme song at the begining? It doesn't even make sence with the story of the film! Someone writting these movies must have something against Joe and Sora, though. Why do keep getting so little screen time in the movies?

I'll be very suprised if the film doesn't come out on DVD sometime soon, though. I can understand the lack of episodes comming out, since they can still be rerun on TV, but I really doubt that all the money spent on bringing "Revenge" stateside was earned back after only being aired twice.

...and I wanna see some Tamers movies too. Those will RAWK!!! :jump:

Could you please send me a link to that site with the Japanese 02 episodes? ^^ *lol*

Also guys, they haven't released any word of reshowing it yet. However, the last three digimon movies HAVE been dubbed. The VA's have confirmed this, so I'm sure we'll see Diablomon Strikes Back (Revenge of Diaboromon) sometime when they show the other three as well. ^^

Just be thankful this isn't Kids WB. I remember when they showed the famous "Holiday at Acopulco" episode of Pokemon. It was only shown twice and that's it. x_x
