Oooo, I like your new stuff. :jump: The old sagacious guy (don't you love the way I speak so clearly?) is my favorite. The one of the guy from CTHD has really neat ears and eyes. It's pretty good for a quick sketch. BTW, that's my favorite movie.

I have a gift for you below. It's a sleep deprived wolf.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Doomo arigatoo, senjutsu! (I probably spelled that wrong... Oh well, either oldphil or shooraijin will correct me, I'm sure!)

And thanks for the M&Ms, Oldphil! (He really did give me candy!) :)

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Hello there Eriewolf.

I'ts nice to meet you. As for your art though, I have to say the "In Limbo" & your Dragon Head piece had to me my favorites. You did very well with the use of the toner paper to render out the highlights and the shadows making your piece pop very much. I would luv to see more pieces like this if you have any more.

As for your dragon head, I like it. Is it a bust or a mounted piece? Either way though, I really do like it. Have you ever thought of using texture stamps?

Anyways, hope to see more art soon :thumb:

Thank you very much, Archan! :) The dragon head (the big one I mentioned that isn't photographed) will be mounted on the wall like a hunter's trophy. (i.e., a deer head) It's really heavy though, so I have to figure out a practical way to do it. My engineer-minded husband will help me with that.

I do have another drawing using the same process as "In Limbo" (which, by the way, is just white charcoal on gray paper). But it's not a fantasy theme, so I can't put it on Elfwood. I am, however, creating my very own gallery site, on which I will display *all* my work. I'll let everybody know when it's up. I'm still finalizing my logo. Haven't had much free time lately... those darned art classes are keeping me busy. :stressed: I love it, though. I can say that there's nothing else I'd rather be doing with my life... unless it's making MONEY doing the same thing! Yeah, money would be nice.

Speaking of money, though, my sculpture teacher wants to buy one of my little models! It's a howling wolf pup, and he likes it so much he offered to buy it. It'll be my first sold piece! (The dancing banana does not adequately express my joy.)

Okay, you've invoked my curiosity... What do you mean by "texture stamps?"

Nonny Mouse -- Thank you! Yes, I will post the wolf sculpture, when I can get it photographed. It's at school right now though; it might be a while before I can photograph it.

Thanks!

Inspiration... Mostly nature, actually, even though some of my creations can't be found in nature... I take my inspiration from the Great Artist. ^_^ Also, I get inspiration from other artists. I get ideas by going to galleries and shows, etc., or by looking around on the internet. I borrow here and there, and try to come up with my own unique style.

 Thanks, t_n_c! I feel silly bumping my own thread.

Well, hopefully I will get a digital camera for Christmas, and then you'll see LOTS of updates! I have a lot of things to scan from my drawing class, as well as the little wolf sculpture. If all goes well, you'll have updates in a couple weeks! :jump:
