An Infuriating Winamp Problem

Postby Debitt » Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:23 pm

I have NEVER heard of anyone having such a bizzare problem with Winamp before...but this is what's happening to me.

Every now and then, when I close Winamp and then open it again later, I find 2/3 of my playlist GONE. 600 of my 900 songs aren't on my playlist again. (it's always the same songs) Now this is an annoying problem, but usually I just go and load up my playlist from the .m3u file and I'm happy.

Well...on very rare occasions, I find that my .m3u file has had the same 600 songs cut off the playlist. I am NOT saving over my playlists. I KNOW I don't, because I'm very very careful with my playlist files after I saved over them once a while back.

Now I haven't heard of anyone having this problem, and I have no idea what's going on here. It's been happening for a while, even after I've upgraded Winamp several times. :?:

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? T_T (yes, I know between this and my jumping browser, I have some seriously weird computer problems...)

I'm leaving CAA perminantly. i've wanted to do this for a long time but I've never gathered the courage to let go.

Nope, none of my other programs do this. Photoshop's working fine and Firefox is working fine, even when I just had to remake my playlist. It's just Winamp that seems to be giving me the problem. My skin doesn't reset if I've changed it, it's just the playlist that seems to go nutty.

=/ And I can't understand how my .m3u files are resetting either.

You may have moved some of your mp3s. Even more probable, the .m3u file has been moved from its birth-folder.

Hm. I'm pretty careful not to move mp3's, and if I do I usually redo my .m3u file. I'll try making another .m3u and see if that fixes the problem, because I'm 100% sure I've never moved .my m3u's. ^^ sankyuu for the suggestion.
