Now as for CLAMP recomendations: Well I'd recommend ALL of them! ^_^;;; but to be more specific, here are some good ones.
Man of Many Faces: It's only two volumes but I still think it's really good. The plot is about a kid named Akira who is secretly a famous theif named 20 masks who steals things based on the whims of his very strange mothers (yes plural). However, the REAL plot of the manga is the relationship between Akira and his girlfriend Utako. I don't think I've ever seen another manga go into so much detail about a relationship, except maybe Kare Kano. It goes into so much detail; it's really cute, and they say some pretty profund things in it. ""A Man's worth can be determined by his ability to make his bride the happiest in the world"..."that's kind of strange...a woman might find hapiness as a joyful bride but what about the man?...If a man and woman are together, it's not fair for only one of them to be happy"" This manga also crosses over with CLAMP School Detectives and CLAMP School Defenders Dukylon
Tokyo Babylon: 7 volumes long. It's about a japanese Omyouji (sp? Kind of like an exorcist), Subaru, who goes around completing random jobs for people along with his sister, Hokuto, and his best friend, Seishiro. It's kind of an episodic ghost busters type story, but the characters are really cool and funny. The ending to the series is also really angsty and depressing, but in a good way. (does that make sense? ^^)
X/1999: 18 volumes and counting (CLAMP needs to take it off hiatus!) The story of the end of the world. The dragons of Heaven fighting to save the world and the Dragons of Earth fighting to destroy it, and only Kamui can decide the final fate of the planet, but there is still a catch. One of my all time favorite CLAMP series, hands down it has the best art of possibly ANUY manga series ever, and a lot of memorable characters...like Kusanagi-san and Yuziriha! Kusanagi/Yuzuriha shipping forever!!! And it concludes the story that began in Tokyo Babylon
Suki Dakara Suki: 3 volumes. A cute story about Hinata Asahi, a high school girl who lives by herself and develops a crush on her new school teacher who happens to have moved in next door. But could her teacher be more than he appears? Is something sinsiter going on? This series is super cute and funny, and it has some good plot twists. The main character is super naive, and all the other characters are pretty interesting too. Crosses over with Legal Drug.
