Well I think I'd have too say Usagi from Sailor Moon..She showed such mercy and kindness to her enemies...and well..Miaka from FY taught me about the responsibilities of growing up.Oh and another one is Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin. It may be just me but she taught not to judge or turn people away for what they've done it the past or what they still do,only God can judge our hearts...I hope that made some kind of sense..

I would have to say that no single anime character has affected my life like...any of them. No anime character has impacted my life.

Well, Gundam Wing did put me into a spending frenzy buying the model kits so I had no scrilla in my pockets for a good five months straight as a 13 year old. Oh, and Rurouni Kenshin took even more of cash because I had to buy each DVD separately. So, the only way anime affects my life is by stealing my money...and minutes I'll never have back.

In selflessness, humility, and a life lived ultimately for the serving of others:
Kenshin Himura (Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin)
-Kenshin displays amazing Christ-like, Godly qualities that I've yet to see any other character successfully emulate as well as he does.

In unconditional and transcendant love:
Haruka Shitow (RahXephon)
-What Haruka goes through and how long she waits in order to show Ayato her love for him and put his safety and security is one of this show's key powerful elements, as it reinstilled in me the idea of just how much God pursues us, waits for us, and has our best interest at heart just one lover would pursue another.

In perserverance, determination, and a spirit that won't give up:
Kiba (Wolf's Rain)
Kiba, from the show's opening understands that there's something greater, something beyond himself out there for him to seek and obtain. As this "thing" begins to take form through the show's progression (Paradise), his resolve becomes all the more hardened, allowing him to look past any hindrances and impediments that try to block him and bombard him. He realizes at some point that unless this thing is obtained, his life will have been for naught, and in fact possibly the entire world's future. In this I see just how important and critical it is that we seek God's interests and will in our lives above anything else, even what we think is good; often what we think is good may in fact be good, but it is not the BEST that we could have. Often the road to what God desires is laden with traps and struggles all the more, but He promises us that "my yoke is easy, my burden light." He will walk with us every step of the way if we perservere, and oft will He carry us in times of trouble (think of the poem "Footprints").

In loyalty and faithfulness to those we love:
Rakka (Haibane Renmei)
-The sin-bound Haibane are constantly haunted by the "sins" they've committed, and live in fear that they may never experience their day of flight. Amongst all of this, specifcally in regards to Reki, Rakka remains loyal and faithful to the other Haibane, especially Reki. It is through Rakka loyalty that Reki ultimately realizes that friends and those close to us do in fact offer some form of hope for us in the midst of our trials.

In understanding that we are fearfully and wonderfully made:
Robin Sena (Witch Hunter Robin)
-Throughout most of this series Robin is on a hunt of her own to find out who she, what she is, what to do with these things, and ultimately to find some sense of belonging, value, or worth in the world. Time and again she's confronted with situations to make her doubt herself and her value as a human being, at times seemingly by those closest to her. However, in the words of the one perhaps closest to her by the show's ending, "God never forsakes any of His children." This show reinforced that fact that we're all different, but we all have amazing value to those that love us, and ultimately to our Creator.

In exposing the human condition, it's vile nature, and showing the hopelessness of relying on our own strength:
Shinki Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
-For me, never has the plight of the human condition and human nature been more effectively personified than in the character of Shinji. In him and the things he deals with and encounters throughout the series, I find myself disliking various things about him more and more, then I realize why: in some way or fasion I see myself in him, as well as what I believe pretty much every human has somewhere in the root of themselves. As depressing as this is, at the same time it's an encouragement to me in that I am then reminded of the Hope that I have in the salvation given to me by God's sacrificing His only Son. Ultimately, it is only through this and this alone that the filth that is our human nature can be made clean and renewed into something of beauty, not by our own feeble strength and abilities.
"Hey Shinji! Lookie lookie!!! Backwards Roll!"
-Asuka Langley Sohryu  :thumb:

what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is
unseen is eternal" 1 Cor. 4:18

ahhh...its already been said like, a million times but....

tohru honda from fruits basket.

that girl is awesome...i try really hard to see the good in everyone and do as many nice things as possible so people can see Christ in me... but i have really foul temper. seeing tohru made me rethink some of my actions... (its kinda strange how someone not even real can have such an impact on you isnt it?)

and chihiro from Spirited Away....

just cause she was a complete baby but by the end of the movie she was this brave girl who helped others.

Anime in general has changed me. I've always wanted to be a hero like the ones I saw on anime shows.

I have a few that come to mind: Ed (FMA) touched me in ways. I was becomming a christian during the FMA series. I won't say he helped me find salvation, but I guess some of the arguments he put against religion kinda helped me be stronger when it came to real people like that. His aithism helped my christiananity if that makes any scence.

She didn't alter me in a huge way, but when I frst saw Digimon as a kid, Kari was a nice role model.

Mahoro Andou (Mahoromatic), for showing me what the true value of one's life is, and Shinji Ikari, for getting me to snap out of feeling sorry for myself all the time.

I have to add Naruto now because he didn't quit in his battle with Kiba and also
Hinata because she's not taking what everyone has been telling her for years sitting down now.

Mine is also Shinji because at the time I first watched I could kind of relate to him because I was going through different emotional issues as well. He kind of reminds me of myself with his mannerisms as well very quite kind of passive...a little scary if you think about it lol.

Kenshin Himura [Rurouni Kenshin + Samurai X]
Why: Dude. He's KENSHIN. 'Nuff said. I admire his selflessness and also how he follows Sun Tzu's principle of "though you are competent, appear incompetent". It's great.

Rock Lee [Naruto]
Why: He's the "genius of hard work". He doesn't have any of the special skills or bloodline limits of any of the other characters, and he isn't even talented at martial arts, but he focused on his goal and made the sacrifices necessary to become "a splendid ninja". And he's Rock Lee. He's just cool like that.

Hinata Hyuuga [Naruto]
Why: She overcomes her naturally utter lack of self-confidence [something I can identify with] and denies some people[coughNejicough]'s judgments that she is fated to be a failure. Plus, Hinata's just too cute. I'd hug her in a half a second if given the chance. XD

Riza Hawkeye [Fullmetal Alchemist]
Why: Because she's willing to do whatever it takes to support the one[s] close to her. And she's just plain awesome.

Alphonse Elric [Fullmetal Alchemist]
Why: He's a patient and understanding "straight man" for his brother Ed, he's kind and polite, plus he's selfless enough that he'd remain sealed to that suit of armor forever in order to let Ed have his arm and leg back. Although Ed would fight that.

Major Alex Louis Armstrong [Fullmetal Alchemist]
Why: C'mon ~ he's Major Armstrong. You gotta love the guy. He can go from tough-as-nails brawler to sensitive and sentimental in an instant. I'd like to emulate that [although with more hair XD].

I would have to agree with you on Alphonse...I should've mentioned him.

Re-watched Silent Mobius episode XRP-77 reminding me of why Yuki Saiko was my first favorite anime female character and why she had made such an impact

Yeah, for me it would be as follows: Hibiki Toki-Vandread/Shinji Ikari-Evangelion/Naruto Usumaki-Naruto
Like I said in my "Anime that changed your life" thread. If I hadn't seen these dudes I wouldn't be who I am today. I thank God for showing me these things. I'm glad He's helped others in the same way as well. That way I'm not so wierd! :hits_self

I think I can really relate to alot of the characters from Fruits Basket. I'm not exactly like one of them, but pieces of certain ones relate to me. Im not going to get into detail but if anyone has read the manga knows things have gotten alot deeper than the anime. The ones i relate to most are Tohru, Rin, Kisa and Hatori. They impact my life cuz though i know its just a cartoon, they are dealing with some serious stuff and still trying to put their lives back together. And I think alot of the overall quotes are inspiring too.

I would say Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, because she seemed to love everyone no matter how they treated her. The way we as Christians should learn to love others.

I'd also have to say Kenshin Himura. He's my all-time favorite. The way he felt that the best way to atone for his past was to change, rather than sulk about it or kill himself, the fact that he was able to move on after all he'd seen and done, was very inspiring.
In Christ,
Dyzzi

Yeah, Tohru's character made me feel like a jerk most of the time - even though she's fictional, she made me want to become a better person.

O_o what an odd topic...anime characters that have impacted my life...

well.. I don't generally let cartoon characters change who I am... because they shouldn't do that...

however, I would have to say that I am a lot like Tohru...but that was how it has been for a long time...
