Is this anime o.k.?

I was over at a friends house, and we where watching one of her new favorite animes called D.N. Angel. It's a kind of weird show, his mom and grandpa did a ritual to keep away dark spirits in the very begining. Some parts of the show where interesting, but I don't want to get into it and like it if it's unchristian and evil. Will soe one please help me to decide if it's o.k.?

It's really up to you, here. There are some magical elements to the story, but they are a minor part of the story, in my opinion. If you have no tolerance for magic, then the content will be too much for you. Otherwise, the magic level is about the same as a Disney fairy tale.

I an actually very fond of this series. It's one of my favorites. The characters are very likeable and engaging and there's plenty of comedy and a good story as well.

I play a lot of video games.... some really bad.... like doom, and heretic, and resident evil, and silent hill, etc etc etc....

and i watch bad things to! ack.... does this make me really bad? should i stop?! =(

Well, hmmm......games that are evil, you should stop, ones that your a demon or games that whorship false things or games with volguar names such as diablo. Maybe you should get some advice at the christian boards, I'm not quite sure, but I'm sure someone there would know.

I have yet to see the anime, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the DNAngel manga set. They don't really give an explanation--supernatural or otherwise--for why Daisuke has Dark in his genes. I found nothing horribly offensive about it, and like many others have said it's on the same level to me as final fantasy or disney movies.

as long as it doesn't really screw you up in your faith is fine. Heck i got good chrisitan friends who LOVE silent hill, and doom, and stuff

I would not really consider any game to be evil or demonic that I can think of. Yes not even a GTA game because it's open ended and completely up to you how you play it. And in Doom you obviously aren't working with the "demons," though they're never called that in the game actually, you're shooting 20 ought buckshot in their faces. The only thing that makes them even remotely demons is they live in a firey world and they're grotesque looking which is our stereotypical view of where a servant of Satan would live and look like. And I don't think hell is a scary lava pit filled with ugly demons.

I didn't like DNangel...I LOVED IT!!! It is such a cute story....the magic references aren't really mentioned in the manga (Have only seen episode one of the anime) so it is all cool!

The characters ae so awesomely designed...I love this series! truly I do.

well.... the story of doom does tell you they're demons, and there are pentagrams and stuff all over... eck...

and i play diablo as well :,( Jeesh...

The thing I'm unsure about is when I play video games I turn crazy, i love shooting things, doing crazy wild things, but then in real life i'm absolutely terrified of guns and people getting hurt! this is a bad thing right? =/

I watched DNAngel a while ago, and the only thing that I remember being really disturbed by was an episode with a vampire in it. Having the 'dark' angel being good and the 'white' angel (KRAD) being bad was a tad confusing though, since in the Western world we tend to associate darkness with evil and light with good. The main thrust of the whole thing seemed to be finding out the difference between true love and a crush, and the nature of friendship. All in all, I really enjoyed it. You might want to read a few of the manga to see if it's for you. If something disturbs you, then it's the best thing to do is listen to your conscience. God gave you one for a reason, and it's there to guide you!

Look they never actually call them demons. Besides that's called being normal. You can tell the difference between polygonal killing and real killing. So you sound mature enough to me to be able to play them and tell the difference between real and fake.

Have you tried watching 'Fruits Basket'? The main character, Tohru, exhibits some great christian qualities like kindness and forgiveness. Though the chinese zodiac and a 'family curse' is mentioned there's nothing really promoting the occult in it. One girl senses 'electrical' auras, but she's not in the story much. However, the family curse results in family members turning into animals when hugged, and when they turn back into humans they have to scramble to find their clothes - but you never actually see anything. Anyhow, if you want an anime that's relatively safe and has a good moral message, 'Fruits Basket' is a good one.

I was told to read that in my hi post because I was curious about it, everyone said it was good so I got the manga, it is pretty good. It's one of my favorites now.
