How do you like your Transformers

The Transformers has been around for so long, but I still think the original was the best. How bout you folks?

Difficult to judge, as I have seen only the American series, not any of the anime series (Transformers Headmasters, Transformers Victory, etc.), even though all of those are PROBABLY classified as Generation One. I'd like to see God Ginrai in action. :D

Beast Wars was good, though a bit dated as far as the CG look. Still a good series, though, until it turned into "Beast Machines." :/

I never liked Armada or Energon. I read the comics, but the whole "minicons" thing seemed too much like Pokemon. Not that there's anything wrong with Pokemon, but it doesn't work in the Transformers universe, IMO.

Owning all four seasons of the American cartoon on DVD, I can't vote for that. It's too...cheesy. And made little sense. Like, how come the Autobots could fly in the first three episodes but couldn't after that? Combine that with Autobots who LITERALLY came out of nowhere. My favorite is one episode where Megatron drops Spike while he's flying away, and an airplane Autobot who hadn't been in the episode AT ALL suddenly appeared to save Spike. Where did he come from? Oh, that's right, the Land of Bad Writing.

I'd have to say my favorite Transformers series is the comics. The art may not have been pretty, but the storyline was solid, and the ones released by Dark Horse were freakin' awesome.

Comeon it was an American 80's cartoon series.:P That exempts it somewhat from those criticisms. I still like my Generation 1 stuff. Beast Wars was not too bad but the new stuff is just souless...

Energon since it was the only one I have seen so far.
Also I found out when I was looking up filmography for the various
actresses who play the six major female characters on Gundam Seed
that Tabitha St.Germain("Flay Allster","Birdie","Haro")played Alexis in
both Armada and Energon. :thumb:

How do I like my Transformers?... Medium Well, with a caesar salad dribbled with Cantalina french dressing... soft, buttery rolls on the side.

For lunch... Miracle Whip on whole wheat bread... "A sandwich is not a sandwhich without Miracle Whip"

I can't believe I'm the one to do this... oh the humanity!

Generally, I like them fried, now. I haven't been too interested in them since the movie came out.

Beast Wars was awesome. For some strange reason, they called it Beasties in Canada. Beast Machines was garbage.

One of the interesting things about Energon was that the main human
protagonist was the only one who could actually sense where the Energon
was. :jump:

If forgot to post that truly, Beast Wars was the only one I cared about. The characters were engaging, though stereotypical. I liked how many of them actually were destroyed and heavy weight was given to the loss. It was an awesome show and I only missed a few episodes. I wonder if there is a boxset somewhere?

Beast Machines... a slap to the face to Beast Wars.

According to the Anime News Network Encylopedia Alexis on Armada and
Energon was played by our beloved Flay...Tabitha St.Germain. :thumb:

I really like the new one as one(Cybertron)although I wonder if the
government men they showed in the pilot ep. are going to show up again.

Just my .02

I'll always love G1, simply because I liked it as a kid, although when they killed Optimus, it just wasn't the same. Thankfully they brought him back in the final season.

Of the new ones, my favorite is Robots In Disguise (the one where Prime is a firetruck. Although that was wrong, imho. Opti has always been and should always be an 18 wheeler.) I liked how they did it with an anime style. Ultra Magnus was very cool and Prowl was sweet (a Lambroghini with rocket engines, how much cooler can you get?)

I liked Armada simply because Transformers had come back after they'd gone away, and imho that was the best-looking Prime ever. Unfortunately Armada had way too many humans.

Engergon looked cool with the cell shaded design, and kicker's glowing hair, but the robots had an almost-toyish look to them.

The new Cybertron characters look great, but the whole "cyber key power" thing makes it look like they're trying to do DBZ. Optimus looks great in this one.

Personally, Beast Wars was the only one that did it for me. Awesome storytelling and characterizations. It currently stands as one of my Top 5 American animated series'. The others I just really never was able to get into.
