Robot Carnival

Does anyone remember this? It's one of my old faves, they showed it on Sci-Fi years back during anime Saturdays.

8 original animated shorts all focusing on robots. Some funny, some dramatic, some action, but I tell ya they were really cool.

As far as I know, the DVD hasn't been released, and it's only available on VHS. Very hard to come by.

Yes I know exactly what you are talking about not all were good but most were I like the one thats all music with the aliens that kidnap the girl that gave this robot a medalion and the robot comes back with a hologram body and whoops the aliens and rescues the girl. That was my favrite one it was awsome. I really didnt like cloud it was boring.

Hahaha, yes. That was "Deprive", also my favourite.
(That guy had a laser eye!)

Not all of them were amazing, but I liked all of them. Franken's Gear was kinda dark-funny. Ooh, and The Tale Of Two Robots was sooooo funny! Hahaha! I really wish this would come out on DVD!

:hits self repeatedly on head:

WHY couldn't I have found this thread a month ago, when I'd just seen the video?! Then I could have talked about it intelligibly.

Um, I think I liked the first one best. The one where there was an actual carnival. Also the one where the guy was sometimes a robot, and sometimes a human.... Hm.

People writing songs that voices never share

Any chance it'll ever show up on DVD?

ROBOT CARNIVAL!!! The first feature-length anime I ever saw!

I've never seen any sign of it being available on DVD, which is too bad. It's an exceptionally well made bunch of shorts and I'd really love to have it.

Actually, I did get a DVD copy of it at MegaCon. ::looks proudly at it::
I dunno how "legal" it is, though. >_>;;

http://www.discountanimedvd.com has a Robot Carnival DVD you can buy. Though it's Region 0 import (possibly bootleg, but still..)

Hmm... I have it on DVD. I'm not sure if it's an import or not. I know a guy who's got it on LD, but I don't have any way to play that...

I think I have it on DVD, too. I'll have to check. A quick search didn't bring up any (legal) results, so I'm not sure.

Wow what a great movie. I just bought the soundtrack a few weeks back. Deprive and Starlight Angel were my favorite "segments"!!!

I'll second "Starlight Angel" as a very cool segment.
