Play a video game. Watch a movie. Watch TV. Watch Anime. Play a sport. Read a book. Daydream.

These are great solutions. They work for me everytime.
had enough.

ahhh I know the feeling. What I hate even more is when I have the PERFECT idea planned out in my mind, but I just have to write like a paragraph to get to where I can start it and the words JUST DON'T COME OUT. I sit and stare at my computer screen for like forever and eventually just get distracted on the internet somewhere.

I can't go off and play a video game or watch something b/c then I get so distracted I forget any ideas I had and I'm not motivated to write anymore XD

Hmm... I think I've addressed Writer's Block before in a long post here: http://66.92.1.159/showthread.php?t=21461&page=1 (look for my post -it's kinda long and addresses some other issues as well, but does come back to another thing/things that helps with writer's bloack in the second half.
Other than that, if you're writing in pencil, you may find it easier to write on the computer -it's easier to go back and change sentences, a little quicker to write (depending on your typing skills) etc.

Doing something in a different environment, like the computer, certainly could help.

But maybe the story you're writing you just don't really want to write. Or maybe you need a break from writing. Have you written a lot, or been really stressed or tired for some reason? (Perhaps lots of school work?) If so, maybe you just need a break. If that's it, you'll get the writing itch soon.

Some people find that sitting down and just writing *anything* for several minutes (including the million thoughts in your head), can clear their heads and get them ready to write the story again. (This can actually work surprisingly well.)

Another thing some people do is write out the plot and things about the characters in advance. Some people don't find it very helpful. (I, for one, am rarely helped by detailed notes, and my outlines ahead of time are generally very sparce or non-existent. But it gives some people added confidence and sense of direction.)

I didn't read the other thread so I might have repeated something. But I like to give my own advice! So sorry if I'm repeating a bunch of stuff.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Those are some really good ides, Alice. I may have to use some of them myself someday. ^_^ I don't think I've considered just sitting down and writing something, anything, before. I'll definitely try to remember that next time I'm stuck. :)

another solution is to simply write crap. Just...don't care what you're writing, just write. You can always fix it up later. helps me out when I'm trying to outrace a deadline >.<
