Hm, tell us how it went. I really have nothing but praise for the guy- he is good at his craft.

As for Funimation I'm not interested in there biggest investments Dragon Ball Z or Yu Yu Hakusho but the actors always do a good job it seems no matter how horribly something is edited they always manage to give their best. LOL though I got annoyed with DBZ's soap opra like episodes I really thought the U.S. dubbs were an improvement. So Vic and the other Funimation Seiyuu get a huge :thumb:

Well back to the subject. It's unbelievable the attitude many have toward anime saying it of the devil etc. Granted there are many anime that promote fornication, demon whorship, etc but not all. Just like some books promote those things, but no one goes around saying books are evil. :p While the lost do need to be ministered to some focus does need to be given to minister to those in the body about love.

and im just emailing you to invite you to join if you wish to ^^ it's a online community where christians can gather who have an interest in anime, ranging from people who casually watch it on cartoon network, to "hardcore" people who download via bittorrent and finish all the unlisenced series before it hits the US (i guess i fit in the latter category)

i believe you are a christian and also that you're the voice actor of a number of anime series (lol although i perfer my anime subtitled) so i figured you too were a fan of anime!

well it would be cool to see you join!

Thanks again! God bless your group!

If he fears for his life he will not.
All the fan girls will rip into him like a ripe piece of fruit (not to say the fan boys wouldn't either but the fan girls would definately get to him first leaving the boys only scraps of that which was once a great voice actor. :( )

Anways, thanks for posting that... now you don't have to worry about me jumping out of nowhere and pulling you into the abyss. :D

I think we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that there aren't other Christians out there doing voice work. Most actors like most people probably keep their religion
to themselves unless they're asked POLITELY about it.Religion like politics is deeply personal so it shouldn't be a surprise if there are many more Christians out there
in the anime buisness.
I wonder what would happen if there were an all-Christian anime con.
Just wondering.

I don't think anyone believes him to be the only Christian in the anime feild but the reason he gets mad love is cause he isn't afraid to share is faith.

Mathew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

After all it isn't just about what set or rules to follow aka religion, it's about ministering to the lost so they can be saved.
This is exactly what he is doing so I'm all for cheering him on. ^_^ Go Vic! :thumb:

This is great news!

Sorry I don't know how to use the 'quote' feature, so am just copying and pasting a quote from 'rocklobster':

"Why can't more Christians realize that there's a common ground between so many religions? If they could, evangelization would be so much easier. But no, we'd rather be like Puritans instead of missionaries."

I think on the surface level regarding making ethical decisions, there does seem to be a lot of common ground. But that's probably as far as things go. The underlying principles amongst religions which are responsible for making those ethical decisions are quite different, even amongst monotheistic faiths such as Islam and Christianity.

For example, Islam teaches that Jesus Christ was a prophet. Christ is central to Christianity and He is God. These two positions on the identity of Christ are mutually exclusive and cannot be reconciled unless one is willing to accept one over the other.

However, I do understand your concern about coming onto people with different worldviews as "holier than thou". I think we need to go back to the gospels and see how Jesus Christ himself treated other people in society.

That's the real key. As Christians we're never justified in thinking we're superior to other people. After all, we're all saved by grace and there can be no boasting on our part.

The article was really encouraging. Thanks to the person that sent it. :)

Totally agree with you guys! I think the absolute best thing any of us can do that will accomplish anything of value is to just pray for Vic and any others in the anime industry that serve our Lord, that they be given strength in the fight and that doors would continue to open for them to bless others with both their craft and their message of Hope brought forth by the example they are striving to set. Btw, just bought Generator Gawl, another one of Vic's animes; I believe he's the main character. Haven't gotten to sit and watch it yet, as it just came today, but I'm amped to get into it right away! May we all continue to seek the guidance of the Sure Swift Hand!

I wasn't trying to say that there WEREN'T any other Christians in anime.
I was just trying to point out that we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that
there are none simply because actors don't always talk about what they
believe.
I personally think that if there was ever an all Christian Anime Con we
would all be surprised by who might turn up. :thumb:
