Off topic: the first banned episode of Pokemon was cut because of James' inflatable breasts. That episode WAS eventually dubbed and aired, with the breast scene cut out, but it was never released on DVD or VHS. I downloaded it off mIRC. The dratini episode could easily be edited to TV standards, and I heard they almost did it, but now it's WAAAAY too late in the series to go back to Indigo and show an old episode like that. I don't think WB even has the rights to anything pre-johto anymore. Maybe they will release it with Pokemon Chronicles, along with the Jynx episode. That episode was cut because someone complained that Jynx was a racial sterotype. In fact, it's DIRECTLY responsible for the Jynx in Haruka's last contest being purple; the japanese animators changed the skin color so 4kids wouldn't have to skip it.

That's pathetic, how is it racial? It never looked that way to me.

Oh yeah, the breast scene. Creepy it was. ^^;

Okay, let's stay on CLAMP/Sakura topics, please! ;)

I read volume 2 of XXXHolic, and it wasn't too bad. I may actually pick up the third one while waiting for the next Tsubasa.

I've been "reading" my Japanese volumes of Tsubasa--it's a nice appetizer, I can't wait to read it with the dialogue!

I'm just excited to
1) see the rest of Carcaptor Sakura
2) see X (it'll come from Netflix for my brother before too long)
3) see Tsubasa Chronicle (once my dad's PC is up and working again)

I also really want to start buying the CCS DVDs and manga.

CCS is a beautiful manga. I like the sytle even better than the anime. I definitely recommend it--along with Tsubasa it's my favorite manga. I think they have some boxsets out there--you should check them out, Jeikobu.

I'm excited to see the Tsubasa anime as well.

Just bought X manga volume 18 the other day. The battle between Aoki, Karen, and Nataku was really cool, and Nataku got a lot more character development than he did in the TV series. It also had a ton of foreshadowing to Kamui and Fuma's final confrontation and what their true wishes might be. Only two more spirit shields to go. Too bad this is going to be the last volume released in the US for like, a million years. Volume 19 hasn't even come out in Japan yet, and CLAMP hasn't written any new issues of X for a couple of years. I think they are going to finish up Legal Drug, XXXHolic, and Tsubasa before they finish X.

Also saw Tsubasa episode 7 yesterday. They changed some names for some reason. The leaders of the towns are now called "Ryoshi" instead of Yang Bang or R'yan Ban, and the Amen Osa are now called "Miteshu". I wonder why they changed the names. I hope the "Miteshu" are still the same people in the anime that they were in the manga. That would be awesome. Looks like episode 8 is going to be more filler events that weren't in the manga. I hope Chun Hyang's world doesn't take as long as the last one. They need to speed things up. Episode 10 is called "The mirror of Seperation", but I can't tell from just that if they'll still be in Chun Hyang's world then. You know, Tsubasa's episode titles suck ^^

What's the site where you can download Tsubasa? I wasn't going to, but I really wanna see it.

I bought Clamp no Kiseki the other day! *does happy dance* It's so spiffy!

ok back again after a long absence. i figured out the problem is me, not the cite, but i have no clue how to fix it. Therefore the only time i can post is using someone else's computer so naturally that takes away a lot of chances to post (i'm at a relative's right now).

Hi Jeikobu, never met u before. glad your enjoying CCS. I too am very cautious about magic. I have heard something interesting that i thought i would share with ya'll. I'm not saying its right, but i'm definitely going to check it out for possible validity.

I attend a Christian school where i live, and as such Bible is required. My teachers are very well trained and my teacher this year also is a full time pastor for his church and has a phd and constantly is researching stuff on the Bible and stuff.(this will tie into this cite and this thread in a minute).

Anyway, we were studying Revalation and of course sins of the world come up big during this time, so many our discussions were on sin and what they meant. It so happened that "magic" which is called witchcraft and scorcery in the Bible came up. This had always interested me as i have never seen anyone have truly supernatural powers. So i payed extra attention (i normally do i have a 96 in the class but this one had me picking up every word)

It turns out the word for that in the Greek is "pharmacon" where we get the word for pharmacy. The interpratation by many scholars because of this is that witchcraft is recreational use of mind-altering drugs, which would make since since people who would used these drugs during those times would see things not there and cause others to see things not there as well.

Like i said, i'm not saying its right, nor will i argue for it (this is NOT a debating website anyway). For all I know, it may be a made up explanation. But I'm definitely going to check it out for 3 reasons:
1. It's logical, since people having supernatural powers is not a sin I have seen people struggle with, but recreational drug use is.

2. I personally enjoy this reasearch ( i would like to be a Christian apologist writer someday)

3. It would be a great relief to me, because I worry that games with "magic" don't leap out to me as "bad" (obviosly i can't let my personal feelings cloud my view into this though)

I still try to avoid "magic" when it seems like its connected to praying with spirits. I guess that's because there seem to be two kinds of magic
1. Superhuman powers, but just powers that a made up character has in a world created by a story teller

2. Magical powers granted by praying and performing ceremonies for spirits, dieties, etc.

Needless to say, i always avoid the number two definition, but maybe the reason that some shows with the number one definition don't bug me is they are just powers, not worship of spirits.

Well, that was a lot longer than i meant it to be. Hope it was okay to put that here( i'm really sorry if its not) and like i said, i'm not saying its right, but rather something i'm gonna look into. I think its always a good idea to understand the Bible as clearly as possible and this is one are i have never understood, but never has a place to start looking.

Also I read MKR #2 and like it, i think i'm gonna get the third and second series as well. One more thing, any news on a Tsubasa English release date?

Really awesome pics Spirit_Wolf. I am beginning to go through pains of enjoying my first manga that is not completely finished when i picked it up. The wait for the next Tsubasa and the Tsubasa anime is driving me crazy!

By the way, I put up the review for the Tsubasa manga. It's not really good, i did not have my manga with me (remember I'm not at home) and i had not read it in a while... well anyway i know i did not do it justice, but can ya'll give me some help and tell if i can do anything to make it better?

Maybe i should have asked one of the other club members or leader here to do it...

Hey, Sparrowhawk, I found your post very interesting. As long as it doesn't become a debate and we don't stray too far from Sakura and CLAMP it's okay by me. I too am interested in studying the Bible, interpretations of the Bible, and even the language of the Bible to some degree.

Beautiful pics, Spirit_Wolf! Thanks! :jump:

I'll go read your review, Sparrowhawk. It's awesome that a member of our club posted one. I'm always happy to see our members share their love of Sakura and CLAMP with others!

And speaking of Tsubasa, here is the trivia contest for June, right on time!

Sakura/CLAMP Trivia Contest for June:
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle! ^___^

1. Name all the members of our heroic group out to gather the feathers.
2. What does Kurogane have to give up to Yuuko?
3. How does Mokona change when he senses one of Sakura's feathers?
4. What are the spirit companions in the Hanshin Republic called?
5. In the Kingdom of Clow, what is Yukito's official title?

The prize for this month will be announced soon. I'm going to make Spirit_Wolf choose as her first duty as Sakura Card Master.

PM your answers to me by June 30. As always, good luck and ganbatte! :jump: :jump:

I have to choose? Oh boy...I'm so indecisive. XD Which ones did we already have?

EDIT: All right! My first official act! The card for this month will be the Thunder card!

And could we maybe get a volunteer or two to make up a quiz for Spiritsword, Chloe, and I? It would be greatly appreciated.

And I'll have more pics soon, promise. ^_^

And your review was very good, Sparrowhawk.

EDIT2: Spiritsword and I had a thought tonight. (Well, he thought; I agreed.) How about another Sakura Chat? We were thinking the weekend after this coming one, around 8 my time. (EST) If you'd like to, let us know. If the time won't work for you, we'd probably be able to change it, if it didn't work for enough people. (Really, the time is my fault, because I've got graduation parties galore to go to  )

Don't worry Spiritsword, i won't be posting about that very often (if ever again). If i do ever post about it again, it will be just to say i found some evidence to back it up, but i will not do that but maybe once, cause i would not say so until i found enough evidence to back it up. Actually on second thought, you are the only one to express interest so far, so if you want I could just pm if you really want to know and not do anything not even post here if you don't.

So back to Sakura and CLAMP stuff (that's what i really enjoy and why i joined anyway)

Thanks for the compliment Spirit_Wolf, although i know others who could have done better. The chat I would like to be a part of it, but i may or may not show depending on whats going on. How are you going to set it up? The time is fine with me (i also am in EST).

I would be willing to set up the quiz for you, but I'm afraid if i did it would be limited to first season CCS, first season MKR, Tsubasa, and xxx Holic. Still if you REALLY want a quiz that bad I could make one up for long enough until someone with more CLAMP knowledge volunteers.

Well, thats all, I still cannot figure out how to put up pics (but I guess i better work on just being able to use this cite again first huh? lol)

Okay, Sparrowhawk got a quiz to us Sakura Card Masters (thanks, Sparrowhawk!! :jump: ), but if you'd like to, Rocketshipper, I'll let you come up with next month's. When the regular contest is announced next month then you can post our challenge quiz here or PM it to Chloe, Spirit_wolf, and myself.

Hey, welcome back, Kaemmerite! Good to see you too, Kisa! We'll look forward to seeing you again in July.

I'm not sure about a Tsubasa movie, but it would be awesome, wouldn't it? I'm still waiting to see the series first!

Let us know what you think of the first volume of CCS, Jeikobu! It's such a beautiful manga! ^___^

Hmmm, I don't think anyone answered my questions from several pages ago...

Let me try one more time, cause I'm interested in the answers! ;)

If you had to dimension-hop to find something important to you (as in Tsubasa), and you could take any 3 companions from the CLAMP universe, who would you take with you? And they can be the characters from the original mangas or Tsubasa versions from those universes, just be sure to tell us all which ones! ^___^ If you want you, can also tell us why you chose those characters. Note: Don't include Mokona in your 3: He's automatically in your party, as he's necessary to dimension-hop in the first place!

IdI'd probably take Nokoro, Suoh, and Akira. The CLAMP detective trio is well rounded and extremly smart, so they would make hunting for clues and solving mysterys much easier, and they aren't bad at defending themselves either.

What was Sparrowhawk's quiz?? I'd like to know what level of difficult the questions are, and I wouldn't want to ask any of the same qestions by accident.

I saw Tsubasa episodes 8 and 9. Episode 8 was kind of pointless, but it got better near the end. Episode 9 was realy cool. I was glad they had the scene with Yuuko, and the beginning of the fight with the witch was cool. Also, the CLAMP school trio showed up! YAY! Their voice actors sounded pretty close to their old ones, so I'm happy. I hope episode 10 is the last Chun Hyang episode though.

K, here are my three:

Yue: mainly cuz he's Yue and he rocks. ^___^
Icchan: Imagine the things we'd get into....It's almost scary...
Touya (the CCS version): I love Touya's character. He's just so cool.

I thought about my three for awhile. The first one is easy to a point--Sakura-chan, of course. But which Sakura to take--the Tsubasa version or the CCS version? Since this is my dimension-hopping adventure and not Li's, I'm considering Tsubasa Sakura at full strength, so it makes it a tough choice, since her full powers may be quite formidable. But definitely Sakura-chan.

Second would be Hikaru from MKR--she is also one of my favorite characters and her fire magic and swordsmanship would come in handy.

And third, I agree with Spirit_Wolf. Ichhan. Ichhan would make things incredibly interesting. And in battle, if all else fails, he can call upon his hidden power to summon "Dark Ogata", and the battle's pretty much over.

Add in Mokona (Hikaru will be happy) and there you have it. It would certainly be an upbeat group!~!

Ichhan

I fear what would happen to the members of your group who screw up. What punishments would Icchan dish out?

Hmmm I would take:
Umi- Shes cool and one of my favs and shes a determined person who would be an excellent add to any party.
Sakura- of course (agree with Spiritsword on TRC Sakura) She's just gotta be included!
Syoran- TRC that is, he is just such a strong character both mind and strnght he would be cool ^^

Hey guys, haven't been here for awhile either. ^___^

Welcome to the Sakura and CLAMP fan club, Sparrowhawk. Thank you for the questions this month.

Let's see onto this question by Spiritsword:

If it's allowed, I'd want to have Yuko around
Ichaan, he's a genius
and finally Shuko just to shoot the breeze with

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I haven't heard much about the Sakura Chat from members, but I will plan to be on at:

8 PM ET
7 PM CT
6 PM MT
5 PM PT

On Sunday to organize the chat. If people show up, we'll chat. If no one shows up after 15-20 minutes after it starts I'll just sign off. If you've participated before I should have your AIM member name. If you have not participated before, and you want to, please PM me your AIM member name, and then sign on at the above times tomorrow. I'll then invite you to the chat! ^___^

Yeah, Chloe, Yuuko is allowed in your dimension-hopping party. Her expertise would be welcome, but after choosing Sakura-chan and Hikaru for my party I needed another guy, and I think Icchan and I would get along pretty well...(that's possibly a bit scary)
