Last Exile and Pretear?

I was wondering if anyone had seen either of these series all the way through and what your thoughts/opinions of them were. I know that Newtype had Pretear on a sample disk and it got me kind of interested in it. Thanks!

The only Pretear that I'm aware of is the story of a young girl who plays the "only one who can save the world" role and is surrounded by a bunch of bishonens. And she also changes into some magical girl suit while doing her thing. hoho :sweat:

It's like a cross of Magic RayKnight Earth/SM/FY/KKJ thing.

I'm not crazy about the storyline/plot since the formula is recycled over and over but I like the artwork. :brow:

I'm such a sucker for nice art. Also, I've only read the manga version...

I don't even know whether this is the same title we're talking about. Don't know anything about Last Exile as well. So sorry! Hope this helps anyway.

hi.ive seen last exile 1-26.the animation was GREAT,the chericters good,and the story very interesting.there is some violance,but i cant recall anything else objectionable in it.it was going around as a fansub but got bought up a bit ago.not sure when it will be released but i realy realy liked it

I have read about Last Exile in Newtype USA and am interested in watching it. It looks like a good show with some solid animation.

I just watched an episode of Pretear tonight--it came on a free DVD with my latest NTUSA. The animation was nice, but I'm not sure what I think of the storyline yet. I will probably end up renting the first volume to watch a bit more of it when I get the chance.

Pretear.. i think it's the typical series that girls would love. All in all though, it's average and ok.

Last Exile, now that's an excellent anime you wouldn't want to miss. Mind you though, it's extremely serious. I like the animation and the character depiction, and that mystery hanging through every episode, what IS exile?!
and lots of 3D flying ships too.. cool!

All I can say is my otaku friend, who watches everything I watch, has told me it's a must-see. He even has the soundtrack and says that's a must-have. I will more than likely buy Last Exile just because of the buzz from my anime friends, whom opinions I trust. PreTear is something my daughter wants. I've heard it's good, not great. I'm sure she'll buy it. :forehead:

Thanks for the response guys. I am seriously considering checking out both of these shows when they come out this month. ^_^ Last Exile is definitely in the lead though.

i picked up Nov. newtype a few days ago. i really liked pretear's character designs and dubbing. i've seen very little of last exile,but what i did see was impressive.
