Monkey Magic

it looks incredibly cheesy and on the stupid side, but I found out from Anime News Network that Richard Ian Cox, one of my all-time favorite voice-actors does a voice in the show, so is it any good? Should I try it out?

Monkey Magic was great! It's based off of an Asian Legend or folk tale. I didn't know that Richard Cox played a voice in Monkey Magic, it was probably one of the lead characters no doubt. Richard Cox Rocks ( Plays in, InuYasha, Guest Appearance in: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis)!

I watched this (and played the PS1 game) many years ago. I liked it a lot. It would seem it's based on the same legend as Son Goku from DragonBall. I forget what that legend/folklore is though...

I watched this in the late 80s, but I think its from the late 70s. It was on Australian channels quite a bit in the past. Very funny, bad acting and dubbing etc, but so memorable. Somehow the fight scenes ended up looking cool too!
Tripituka the monk was always being the guide for Monkey. And who could forget Pigsy and Sandy the Fish Spirit?
That was a great tv series!
