I'm not bothered by your obseesion with Walkabout, Lizard_queen. :p *heh* Thanks for that link. This is the first I have heard of this and it's very interesting - always fun to learn something new.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the Hurley episode. Great observation by Lehn. Man, you guys are super observant. o_o

Thanks for the episode update, SorasOathKeeper.

New episode of Lost next week! Not entirely sure if I'll survive the wait until then though (8..days..). Random bit of information, I googled 'Deus ex Machina' and found the following on an online dictionary:

1. In Greek and Roman drama, a god lowered by stage machinery to resolve a plot or extricate the protagonist from a difficult situation.
2. An unexpected, artificial, or improbable character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot.
3. A person or event that provides a sudden and unexpected solution to a difficulty.

Very interesting..(this isn't too much of a spoiler, is it?)

Who's watching "Lost" on ABC? I'm really started getting into it. ^_^ Originally started watching the show because of Dominic Monaghan (I'm a big LOTR fan, and a 'hobbit huggler' (as we say on Christian Tolkien Fans), so I HAD to watch it), and I'm glad I started watching it, because I probably wouldn't have if he wasn't in it and it's a VERY good show. I love how in depth all the characters are, and the use of flashbacks to tell a character's story. The whole show looks very cool, too, they use a lot of styles that I've noticed on movies but haven't seen much on television shows (although the shaky camera trick they seem to be fond of is starting to get a little annoying... :eyeroll: )

Anyway, what do you guys think of the show? any theories about the plot?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love, love, love that show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me, my bro, and my mom watch the show every wendensday!
execpt when it's a rerun.

Whew, I have a lot to catch up on with you guys. I've seen almost all the episodes now (thanks to reruns) and can now actually talk about the show!

My favorite characters are Charlie, Sayid, Hurley and Sawyer (Yes. Sawyer. Before you people attack me with sticks let me say that I don't admire what he does (or did) but I love his sarcastic humor and the way he tees off the other characters. I honestly wouldn't care if Kate got chummy with him because they have a lot of common and I find Jack boring XD)

I was sad to see Jin and Sun
"break up" T_T
I hope that doesn't last!

And when is Claire going to have her baby? Isn't she overdue? If this goes on any longer I think she'll blow up....

Hey I thought tonight's was supposed to be a new episode? Guess not... it's the one that starts off with Sayid giving Shannon the shoes.

Hah, I remember the first time I watched that episode and my cousin was like, "SHANNON'S PREGNANT TOO!!! AAAHHH!!" because apparently pregnant women's feet sometimes swell. I'm so glad she was wrong.

What? No posts on the latest episode?

Perhaps I'm a wee bit slow but I have officially decided that Terry O'Quinn is a really, reeeaally good actor. He just gets so intense! I swear the guy could turn the most mundane little thing into a massive tragedy of epic proportions that has you sobbing like a baby and rocking back and forth. Locke very muchly rocks, though I can't help feeling like I want to track down the writers, give them a shake and yell 'won't you just give the poor guy a break?!?!'. Well, I guess it makes for a really involving and stirring hour of television.
Did anyone pick up on the parallels between the mousetrap game and the appearance of Locke's mother? (she could be viewed as 'the bait')
Awesome use of foreshadowing, with the two traps being set. I didn't pick up on it until I rewatched the eppy with my brother.

And I know it's bad, but I'm rather much wishing physical harm on Locke's kidney stealing father. And BOOOOOOOOooone! He was actually growing on me this episode, it was interesting to see the way that a father/son relationship is forming between Locke and Boone. I just keep repeating, he's not dead yet!

And the glowing hatch at the end, was such an awesome yet infuriating cliffhanger.
Hey... where have all the Lost fans gone? No discussion yet on Wednesday's NEW episode??

Locke really has a sad past. But I can't believe, given his dream, that he would send Boone up into that plane! What was he thinking??!? I understand how much he wants to know about the island, but he goes too far. Like giving Boone the hallucinogen paste (or whatever that was. Boone: "Have you been using that wacky paste that made me see my sister get eaten?" ) and overall manipulating a bunch of people, even if his intentions are good.

But Sawyer and the gang certainly lightened up the episode. XD. "Dude, looks like someone steamrolled Harry Potter."
But I hope Boone lives! He's too hot to die! Why can't they pick on some irrelevant character no one cares about??!? And I'm not even a Boone fangirl! *driven to madness* :eh:
The Sawyer abuse was pretty funny, but it mostly had me yelling 'get back to Locke and Boone and Locke's backstory and the hallucinations and the crazy island stuff!!!' *inhales* at the TV screen.

And as for Boone:
He was still breathing at the eppy end. Repeat after me, he's not dead yet, he's not dead yet-

Besides, I remember hearing that one of the castaways would kill a fellow castaway. I mean, technically Locke was kinda responsible, what with not telling Boone about the whole bleeding and bloody bit of his dream and sending him up into the airplane (it's like, heeeeeeeello red shirt). But I think Locke was mostly just really caught up in the island mystery, to the point where his better judgement was clouded. And it's a wee bit of a stretch to say that Locke was totally responsible. And Boone ain't dead yet!!

Still, poor Boone, he reminds me of a puppy for some strange reason. With his sad beady eyes and tendency to blindly follow people.
XD !!

But!
He was like "Just let me go, Jack" and that made me suspicious. Would the producers do it? Because Locke wouldn't really learn his lesson if Boone lived. *doesn't even care about Claire's baby* XD

And what, pray tell, is that light beneath the hatch? I was thinking "E.T.!" but that's just me being rediculous. But I was seriously suspecting some weird little alien. (Not that it would be out of place on this island of polar bears, deranged French women, and large monsters.) Sigh. Just four more days until we find out.

I'm not to sure if he's really dead. he might walk around like Jack's father. I kept on saying His eyes are going to shoot open and he's going to say somthing weird. I was expecting Claire's baby to be freaky looking. Maybe it will grow up to be Boone
ok, i'll shut up now....Ok, here is some things that you might not of noticed*i didn't* THat i thought were interesting....

# The mysterious numbers that the episode focuses around are: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.

# When speaking with his attorney during a flashback, Hurley is informed that he now owns a Box Company. Is it a coincidence that Locke used to work for a box company? When it comes to this show, there are no coincidences.

# The cursed numbers that this episode revolves around are 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 appear on the hatch that Boone and Locke have been working on.

# 16 years ago Leonard and his navy co-hort who had been on duty stationed in a listening post in the Pacific. One night they had heard a vocal transmission after a prolonged period of static. These numbers brought bad luck on both Leonard and his friend. Danielle Rousseau and her team had heard the same transmission at the SAME TIME (16 years ago) on their ship, crashing them on the island - which was the point of origin for the transmission.

# We find out that there had been someone on the island before the crash victims, and Danielle Rousseau's team. 'They' had built a comm tower at the "Black Rock" which had been the source of the first vocal transmission of numbers (and later Danielles re-recorded SOS). They might have also been responsible for the mysterious hatch, considering it has the same numbers engraved on it?

# Locke finds that his legs cannot be hurt, as he proves with the shrapnel/pin/hot stick.

# The drug that was being smuggled on the crashed plane Boone and Locke find is heroin---the same that Charlie was addicted to (and Locke knows it). Coincidence? Not on this show.

# When Locke's mother ask where items are located in the store at the beginning Locke says "isles 8 & 15." Flight 815 was the flight and they were two of Hurley's lotto numbers. These numbers have importance because they keep putting them in our face!

# When Boone contacts the outside from the Beechcraft radio, he states that they are survivors of Oceanic flight 815. Closed Caption reveals that he was answered with..."There were no survivors of Oceanic Flight 815!"...a possible clue to the plot.

# Both Boone (Ian Somerhalder) and Locke (Terry O'Quinn) had someone close to them break their neck in a fall when they were children.

Now, this one is somthing to think about....

# Sawyer is reading a new book Madeleine L'Engle: A Wrinkle In Time (about time travel and a 5th dimension), this links into ideas that the radio transmission boone gets is not "there were no survivors..." but "We're the survivors from..." and in fact Boone isn't talking to someone off the island but himself either in the future or in a parrellel dimension of some sort.

About that voice on the radio, at first I also thought that the person was saying "there are no survivors". However, on better quality sound recordings, the voice is actually seems to be saying "we're the survivors of oceanic flight 815". Weirdness, it might be a hoax, but it certainly puts a different spin on things if it's for real. I got all of my info from this link (it has a sound file too):

I never watched it. Not that I didn't want to watch it. But when I do try to watch an episode I never understand whats going on! I missed it from the beggining and now I don't understand it. There are alot of people who are like "Ohh! Lost Lost! bla bla." I'm like "Don't remind me!" I don't want a summery either because I'm sure it would be better to watch. And I don't have enough time to get hooked on a show.

I'm sure your not the only one Pent, any show by J. J. Abrams tends to be convoluted and confusing to jump into out of sequence. There's evidently a Lost Season 1 DVD coming out this fall. If you ever feel like playing catch up, it may be worth borrowing or renting. And there's always reruns ^_^

I've been watching Lost for awhile, and Locke has to be one of the coolest characters ever-sure some might think he's a bit crazed but he is one of the smartest peaple there. And Hurley is just awsome XD I also like Charlie. About Claire having the baby, I was expected the part where everyone was gathering around her to see him, I was thinkin' the baby would open its eyes really quick and grow sharp teeth and bite her finger off! O_O <-------watches way to much tv Or he was going to open his eyes and say "your going to die in seven days"

Oh, and did anyone watch Regis and Kelly this morning, they had Boone on. And there was one very interesting part where Kelly was saying how he could come back as a ghost, well Boone was trying to shush her, I wonder why...?
happy go luck monkey!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!

*sobbing her eyes out* That was so not cool. Dangit all why didn't they kill off Sayid. I could live without Sayid. But Boone....my freaking hot Boone....*sniffs*

I really loved your post, Sora. It brought out points I didn't realize.

I can't believe the season finale is coming up....to think I'll have to wait months and months and MONTHS without a new episode! O.O

Something I noticed was the names--Sawyer, for example, makes me think of Tom Sawyer (and it fits him, always trying to weasel out of work), John Locke (hello, treatise writer), Boone like Daniel Boone....I wonder if these names will ever tie into the story.

Speaking of names, any thoughts on what Claire will name her baby? I'm hoping Charlie ( XD ), but I have a feeling it will be Boone

LQ and Sora, you both are awesome. You recognize waaaayyyy more than I do. I just sit back and watch the show. :P

I was actually okay with Boone leaving the show. And, from what I've heard from the actor, he may not truly be gone ]really dead.

These last few shows of the season have been great. I'm glad Claire finally had her baby. Wow, I'm italicizing way too much. I think the baby will be named Boone, also.

I also loved how Sun and her husband kept eyeing each other in that awkward moment, and how she was interpreting for him. Man, I really want them to get back together. :(

Hehehe, I loved the bit where Jin and Charlie appeared to be hiding/taking shelter behind a log while Claire was in labor. What is it with guys and freaking out about childbirth? And I nearly fell over laughing when Charlie and Jin started jumping around and hugging after Claire finally gave birth. One could almost forget about all of the Jin/Sun angst, if hadn't been for that particularly awkward scene where she was having to translate for him. Awww, he looked so pained when he ran into her :(

And on that note, of all the people to have to deliver an urgent message, it had to be Jin (the only non-English speaking castaway, I think..). On the bright side, his vocabulary seems to be getting bigger. Yay for more Jin-inclusive scenes! Even if it had to be in the middle of such a sad eppy overall. Now if only he and Sun would get back together..*crossing her fingers*

Well even speaking as a girl, it may be beautiful and all... but you have to admit, it is rather gross.
Yeah, I loved Charlie and Jin jumping around. That was great.

Mom caught me watching the end of the show, so I paused it and explained what was going on...she then promptly cracked up at her own pun of "Baby boom/boone" :eyeroll: Poor mom, she tries so hard to be funny....

Hmm, how about the pain, and hollering and afterbirth and whatnot? Just thinking about it makes me all "goose-bumpy" :-)

So, is this wednesday's a rerun? cause from the previews it didn't seem like it, but wasn't sure. anyone know?
thanks....

Guess I can't help thinking, if you guys are freaked out, how d'you think she feels? You all make very valid points though, the actual childbirthing experience isn't particularly pleasant for anyone involved :eh:

Oo, and unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this weeks episode is a rerun of 'Special', the Micheal and Walt-centric episode. I'll probably still record it though, just in case they spring a brand new episode on us. I am seriously hoping that next week's episode will be a new one!

Also, does anyone know where I can find a preview of the next episode? I think I might try checking the ABC website..

I guess I rely too much on my TiVo--it ONLY records new episodes, so I know immediately when it repeats. Although they were hinting at the season finale...so it can't be too far off.

La, la, la. I'm not listening (er... reading the previous posts). Today was the episode with Sayid being captured by the French woman, what a crazie! It was very interesting to learn some of Sayid's background and how different a person he was. The torture descriptions were a bit much though. Excellent episode, especially with the comic relief - golf games. Awesome stuff! The suspense of this show is killing me! 12 more episodes to go!
