Help me find a good anime drawing book, okay?

Postby Godly Paladin » Wed Apr 06, 2005 12:46 pm

I was looking through my local bookstore yesterday, and they had dozens of "How to Draw Anime" and "How to Draw Manga" books, but the problem was that all of them had hentai drawings in them as 'examples', and they ranged from soft-core teases to hard-core smut. Not to mention that most of the drawing styles taught were far too...uh...shonen...for my tastes.

Can someone recommend a title without the porn and that actually looks like all of those 100% Japanese anime and manga styles I know and love?

look here

well......how about this?

i have read through this one and have found no porn and without alot of the useless nudity that is found elsewhere......

it has helped me quite alot, because i struggle with details, and with folds/clothing, and with emotions and expressions....

there are also alot more books in this seires, i from what others have said, these books are worth every penny.....

so check this out, hope this helps....also u might find this at your local library, because i rented it from my library to read it.....

I have that one...the one you mentioned emersongreen, but it seems like its too advanced..or undetailed for a how to draw type of book......I suggest something thats goes step by step and doesnt skip from one thing to the next too quickly. Unfoturnatly I have yet to find such a book. But you can try that one if you like..it may work good for you.

I have this book, and I think it's really good. The art is great, and it's been helpful. There's really no nudity to speak of either.
