Blue Submarine No.6

Postby Wild Eagle » Tue Apr 05, 2005 4:36 pm

I was surfing the Internet today and came across this anime called Blue Submarine No.6. It seems interesting, and it may come on my list of "anime to get this year". Have any of you seen this series and if so, what do you think about it?

seen parts of it but it does have some bad content in it. havent seen enough of it to really give an acurate review. from what i have seen (the cn version so you know its cut up) there was an implication of a sexual scene and some blood (not much in the cn version but i bet its there in the dvd version)

Ah ok. I dunno, it caught my attention because some of the people who made Last Exile also made this anime and it's supposedly about submarines, so yeah...

Personally I loathed it. Neither the characters nor the story are at all engaging, and the meshing of CG and traditional animation styles is particularly jarring in this series.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

hmmm...ok...I've read other reviews on the Internet...and I'm not that impressed by it anymore. *scratches it of the "anime to get this year" list*. Supposedly it has strong language, nudity and some Christian bashing *sigh* will there ever be a good naval centered anime?

Saw it a few years ago and thought it was weird. The whole concept of the story is kinda Dr Moreau-ish and just hard to follow story..... Basically, I didn't like it....

The above posters have pretty much summed up my problems with it. It's a pretty unique anime, overall, and it *can* be enjoyable, but you could probably spend your time (and money) better on another title.
