This was reported today on ANN.

Plans for a Powerpuff Girls anime were announced at the Tokyo Animation Fair. A joint venture between Toei Animation, Aniplex, and Cartoon Network, the new project will be tentatively titled "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z."

Am i the only who seems to be aniticipating this? I think it looks cute!! It might be a good show that my lil sis can watch! (i don't let her watch a lot of anime.. because she is only 8 and she is very impressionable.)

Like 8 years ago, my older sister's friend, my sister, and i compared each other to the power puffs.. and i was compared to Buttercup! and i think that huge mallet is a cool weapon you can squash things with it.. and lil stars with fly out.. ^_^

hey, i like power puff girls and everything, but sometimes the graphics are annoying.. i think anime will a nice change wonder what Craig McCraken (SP?) thinks about all this?

btw.. what does Damashitaa! (SP?) mean>

and suddenly i'm reminded of an illustrated envelop sent in to the wizard comic book magazine that depicted the powerpuff trio doing a three way kamehameha and yes, it was called powerpuff z, if only i had that pic to show you all now, argh!

ya know the second episode of trigun, where the guy's hoarding all the water, and towards the end right after vash gets up out of the water that guy takes a shot at him, and vash dodges it at the last second then screams, uh, yeah

hey! wait a minute, i thought they already were anime, well at least to a certain degree, they do have those huge eyes and disproportioned bodies, oh well, anything to make a buck i guess...

I for one think that this could prove interesting. I used to be a big PPG fan, but a while ago I lost practically all interest in the show. Just too simple, episodic, didn't follow a real story, etc. I still like the movie but that's about it. But upon seeing this, I think it could be very ineresting, seeing these character anime-ized. I'm sure it'll beat the heck out of the US show. Although, I'm sure some stupid company will get the rights to the show and only release the dub. >_<

I think that would be too... cute.. for me. (impossible? no! very possible!) I think it could be good for children, but I don't know. The project seem kind of silly to me~
And I can't imagine Prof. Utonium (?) as that, he won't be all square any more.

Good for children, yes, but isn't the series already like that? Humm.

I TOTALLY AGREE!! and hey, if they ever had problems opening acorns.. Buttercup would be REALlY handy!!

I think this show would be interesting.. but that is just me.. i like random things... and i want to be able to watch an anime with my lil sister and not worry about the content.. i think this might fit into that category..

I AM SOO TIRED OF WATCHING DUBBED HELLO KITTY!! ARGH!! That voice grates on the nerves.. So hopefully this wont..

i have some fond memories of the american powerpuff girls thing, plus, with my love of anime, i will be looking foward to this, i hope it is enjoyable, i think about everything other than fat-boy elvis Utonium looks better. Utonium though, looks lame... IMO.
