Good Anime
Hi. I'm looking for a good anime feature that I could show my dad that is good without being too farfetched or violent. If you guys could suggest a good one (preferably a feature and not a series), it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Porco Rosso or Grave of the Fireflies are good choices for introducing a dad to anime. Although you said no series, I must also mention Master Keaton as a great series for dads (and moms) to watch.

Princess Mononoke is an EXCELLENT movie. I don't know what your beliefs are reagarding magic or eastern religion, but there are "forest gods" in the movie. They aren't anything like the one God in any sense - I think they could very easily be equated to the spirits of animals that you see in Native American lore. But anyhow, excellent movie. Very enjoyable if you've got nothing against the forest gods and the conservationalist message the movie seems to send at times.

I watched The Cat Returns with my parents and they both enjoyed it alot (well, perhaps my mom more then my dad)
He saw Spirited Away and I think enjoyed it as well (as before, I think my mom enjoyed it most)
Princess Mononoke is an excellent start tho, I think.

Try Mobile Suit Gundam F-91. I just saw it today and it is great. And it has a story line that stands on its own so you don't have to be a total Gundam fan to understand it. (but I am anyway). Just a warning though, there is one scene where a girl is taking a bath and steps out of the water, but it is PG-13 so nothing shows. It shouldn't bother you or him, but just wanted to warn you.

how about My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro), that's a warm and comfortable film, no voilence, nothing drastic, i thought it was really heart-warming and funny.

You could also try Voices of a Distant Star. That's pretty short and sweet. 'Course this is for a dad, so I'm not sure how much he's into the space drama/romance across the stars thing. Wonderful show though! Almost brought the tears, and to think one man made the whole thing on his computer.....

Dang, if it weren't for the violence thing, I'd also heavily recommend the Samurai X ovas, Trust and Betrayal. Has he seen any war films like Private Ryan or even the Last Samurai? If he's seen those, you'd could try doing the Samurai X ovas; really emotional story with great characters and plot. Good, quality stuff! Yes, as I said, very violent, but no sex scenes or heavily coarse language/humor. Just a thought.

I agree; Millennium Actress is an excellent choice.
Along with the other Miyazaki films that have been mentioned, Kiki's Delivery service is a good, clean movie--with the caveat that the main character is, in fact, a witch.
