I read the manga once, and found it filthy, basically its Hentai in some parts is all I have to say.

Aw c'mon, the manga can't be THAT bad... can it? I REALLY doubt that it would have hentai in it, unelss it was something symbolic.

Well, in Zip's defense, it really did look like mindless fan service. I couldn't make myself read it. Just flipping through it I saw an obvious poo/bikini clad chick scene. That was enough to tell me I didn't want to read it.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

The "poo/bikini" scene isn't the worst of it either, trust me :eh: :wow!: :?:

That's... odd... WAAAAAY off from the series too! I only remember a beach scene or two, and one other part that was a phycological dream, but even then not too bad. All I know is that the series is much better, and less sexual than NGE because of that one scene in there.

I recently bought the entire series and am currently watching it . I'll post more in detail when I finish, but so far I haven't seen much that's objectionable, just weird. And as to comparisons with NGE... no, no more so than most other mecha series, although there is certainly heavier emphasis on mystical aspects than most.

I've read the first volume. It's far from hentai, but it did have quite a bit of fanservice. Quite a bit more than I was expecting, from what I had known of this series beforehand.

From what I understand, the artist seems to be well-known for adding a lot of fanservice to his manga titles.

I finished RahXephon (the anime, not the manga) and agree there is some fanservice in the story. I don't see it as particularly advancing the story or contributing to the plot (hence, fanservice). I don't find it excessive -- perhaps two or three episodes have a couple minutes max, other eps have just a moment that might be considered gratuitious -- but if you're bothered at all by it, I would recommend not watching it. It's a pity, because the rest of the story is engaging. I have not seen the manga.

Don't judge the anime by the manga. The manga is nothing but a fanservice retelling of the original story. The tv series, and the movie, were clean. Some profanity, violence[typical in the mecha genre] but not hentai like at all. Recommended much higher than NGE simply because it is a story of love overcoming even time, instead of a despairing story of hopelessness...

The movie does have an implied sex scene, and by implied I mean they show everything leading up to and following the act, but no nudity that I recall.

I've only seen up til about ep 8 or so, but I must say I adore this series. The NGE comparisons are quite questionable. It seems to have more in common with the Escaflowne movie, IMO.
