here's more of chapter 3
Bordering the Verne sea and south of Railen. Treyuron was once a city of war. However, it turned into a fishing town at the Division of the sea and forest elves the end of the Crusades.
Forest and sea elves used to live in harmony in that town upon the sky. A mystic town that crashed to the ground during the Wyvern Wars for closely guarded.
The elves separated, one side moving into seclusion into the city of Oltheres, learning the ways of the woods while the sea elves came to Treyuron, determined to fight.
Coward. Quain felt the familiar hatred his kind often felt for their elven brethren. Rather they live and ignore pleas to fight while we remain, caring for the dead.
Therefore, quiet animosity boiled between bloods, separating the people farther each year. Though, open war had never occurred, their new leader, a former warrior, opened the six hundred year old wounds of strife, putting the two cities on the breaking point.
The messenger saluted, forming a fist covered with an open hand. Peace over war. Those loyal to their forest brethren used this sign. A secret group of warriors bound to the old ways. A sentiment that is impossible for Quain to adapt and accept.
When Krim first told him of their society, Quain, still being young, refused it out right along with many others who became Krim’s pupil that day.
Even though he was the youngest among the group of students, he started at age five, he thrived, becoming better skilled then those twice his age.
Many could not take the harsh discipline required from his master nor the demanding training that so many times brought Quin to the edge of death.
Ten students out of hundreds passed through master’s hand, chosen to move to become scouts, warriors, or the infamous assassins. Eighty-seven failed and went back to start training again.
Twelve rose to the elite, becoming the best of the Regions. Quain alone remained, though he often questioned why. True, he is only fifteen years of age, half the age of the others, yet he surpassed his fellow companions in strength, skill and intelligence. Yet master still would not allow it.
Even when approached on the subject, Quain exasperated and weary of the wait, pleaded with him to give an answer. His responded in his usual mannerism, “You think that you know all that pertains in the world? What are you…Lord that we should prostrate ourselves?â€
