any good road-trip anime??
Hey everybody, okay, here's the deal. My family is going down to Dallas in two days. Tomorrow my dad is going to take me to Best Buy and maybe a few other places. I have $27.50 and my friend let me borrow his portable dvd player. I would like to get a good anime(most likely a movie) to watch on the trip. I am thinking about getting Mobile Suit Gundam F-91, but am not sure yet. Anyone have any good suggestions for a good anime to get for the trip. I would prefer a movie to a series but I'm open for suggestion. Just as long as there is no nudity or taking God's name in vain or super-gory violence. I am thinking mecha or just something with a lot of action but am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hmm...I'd say Trigun...But it's not a movie...Castle In The Sky would be a good road trip anime I think. Also Nadesico is a good one...The worst thing about it is that they use D*** a lot in some of the episodes...There's a little bit of near nudity near the end of the series but nothing really bad. MBS F91 is pretty good. Better than most of the other Gundam movies I've seen...But I'm not really a Gundam fan...

You're wanting movies, eh? Yeah, I'd try Miyazaki's stuff, although you should note the flaws that TrigunX89 mentioned.

Giant Robo is roughly 5 and a half hours in full. The last DVD comes out at the end of the month. 3 DVDs in total. Get it. Now.

Too bad you're not a girl. Then I'd say you should get the Fancy Lala boxset for 30.00 bucks. Then you'd get a whole series for your money. But you're not. *sigh*
Hmm, perhaps Last Exile. That's a really good series. You'd only get one volume though. Or, you might just wanna save and buy a bundle of three volume for 40-ish bucks.
As others said, Miyizai movies are all good. Especially Spirited Away.

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.
Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.
But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. Well, thanks everyone! I'm going to just make due and bring the anime I already have because I want to save my money for when we go to the great big Dallas mall. But i might get something there so I will keep your recommendations in mind. Thanks.
