Big O appreciate thread.

lol, ok so I know i'm obsessed, but the other thread was making me nostalgic. Hopefully there's not already one of these that I should be digging up instead, but hey....at least I get my own thread. :thumb:

So, if you're a Big O fan, please show yourself so we can start some cult and take over the world. ;) Or maybe just...discuss it? either one.

Personally I think Dorothy is great. She's this odd mix of things so you can never quite tell if she's dealing with human emotion or just duty or...I don't know what else. Very cool though.

And the music....wow, would I love that soundtrack. There's just something great about this show, from the odd plot, to the art, to the way they fit classical music with violent robot battles. *happy sigh*

Yeah, ok now i'm scaring myself too. I think i'm putting off housework. Anyways....this is rambly enough. *scans horizon for fellow fans*
Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty.

Your first, equally obsessed fan shows himself! BWAZAH! Man, I love this series. The first season had a great charm about it that was greatly lost in the second season.

They seem almost like two different shows! But the second season had some great mecha battles! I've seen the first season...about 10 times!! And yes, Dorothy is uber cool. We should start like, a Dorothy fan club or something *looks around* uhmm....maybe not (two members doesn't seem like enough...).

Ok, so what did you think of the second season? (I mean, the mysterious plot or w/e)

Dorothy was way cooler than Data.Than of course Big O is way cooler than Star Trek...but then ANY anime series is way cooler than Star Trek.
The thing that poses me all the time is in the final episode how was she able to move and talk if her drive had been removed from her along with her
"memories".But then again Beck did suggest that she knew who she was all along.

Roger:"How did you manage to find me?"
Dorothy:"A buffoon with blonde curly hair and gaudy clothes.."

Ooh, ooh! I love the Big O! Partially because I'm a big Steve Blum fan. But I really love the show by itself as well. I haven't finished it yet, though, so everyone please remember the spoiler tag.
Think happy thoughts.

Great series. Anyone who likes Big O would probably love Giant Robo. Because it's better.

Big O is vastly underrated.

MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I LIKE BIG O!! :jump:

I like each and every one of the characters!...well, except Alex....and that wrapped up guy (can't spell his name)...

I remember when I first sat down to watch Big O. I was saying to myself "Man, I never seen eyebrows like that but they're killer!" I was stuck on those eyebrows for a few days :eyeroll:

R.Dorothy :rock:s I remember a dream where we were working on a science project and another dream where we took Big O for a spin (and Roger was mad :P )...I wish Dorothy could be my friend for real :sniffle:...

I was wondering why Big O reminded me so much of Batman: the show (according to sources I've read) was modeled after the Batman series.

Episode 18 was the best IMO. So funny. Beck should have kept his 'fro

I was obsessed with Big O too...before I was converted into a Gunsmoker...

*is listening to Snoop Dummy Dogg's "Beautiful" song and decides to write a Big O remix*

~Big O, I just want you to know, you are my favorite show (2X)...
~(Big O! Big O!)
~I just want you, to know that you're a really good show. Big O, Big O, Big O--(Big O! Big O!)
~Roger, Beck, Alan. Angel, Norman, don't forget Dorothy. Big O, Big O, Big O--(Big O! Big O!)...
~Ah yeah, there's something about you...

I'm sorry. That was something I made up a while ago :P

And your sources are right. Sunrise did some of the art work for a few of the eps. From what I know, most of the people that work on Big O, work in some point on Batman TAS.

Didn't Alan Oppenhiemer(sp?)who voiced Norman in the dub also voice Alfred in the Batman animated series and also play Alfred on Birds of Prey?
If so then that is one obvous tie in with Batman.
Myself,Wendee Lee is one of my favorite VAs in the dubs. :thumb:
She plays a lot of the cooler hard case type femmes like Faye on CB and
Kiva on Megas XLR.

I also think Big O is a great series. Actually I heard the second season was only made because Cartoon Network funded the project. I guess the American demand for it was there...
(also I think CN is also thinking of funding the 2nd season of Pilot Canidate.. So I've heard)

But yeah, Dorothy is awesome. Her voice is both serious and funny at the same time. SHe's just great...

Just curious, y'all have a favorite episode?

*grin*

edit: also...any of the episodes where Dorothy's lovely(and loud!) piano playing manages to wake Roger up. Truly great. :jump:

My favorite episode is also the "Heaven's Day" one. Although they are all good, this episode really has more emotion behind it- between Roger and Dorothy. More of an inside about their feelings and it makes you think if the relationship possible.... I've seen weirder things happen.

I have fun watching any episode where Roger calls Angel by name. I'm a BIG Steve Blum fan, and I just sit there and go...
Roger: Angel!
AngelSakura: *_* *rewind rewind*
(Repeat a couple hundred times)
Think happy thoughts.

The scene I love the most is in the finale when Beck's standing looking at Dorothy and all of a sudden she comes back to life and it freaks Beck out.
