Let me tell you a Tale of Great Woe- my escapades with CN and Big O.

I watched Big O's first and second seasons almost obsessively. I would schedule my life around watching Big O. (This is something I never do- I always figure I can catch the reruns later. I don't even watch primetime.) Then, the last episode of the second season was supposed to air- and I was ready to watch it- as usual. When I saw the first five minutes, I was confused- wasn't this an episode I had already seen? I figured that CN was postponing the very last episode a week to draw viewers, gave a sigh of impatience, and turned off the TV. The next week I turned on CN expecting to see the long-awaited final episode- only to see some other show instead! Turned out that the week before had been the finale- it just had some flashbacks in the beginning. And to this day, I have never seen that last episode of Big O. (Cries miserably into her pillow)

Buy Volume 4 of the Big O II DVDs. Hint hint. It's worth it! The end will leave you SHOCKED!

I suspect Witch Hunter Robin will be back on again, at some point. Don't know about ratings but it was much better received on the Adult Swim boards during the most recent airing then during the first airing last year.

But why does Wolf's Rain get like four full airings in a row? I'd like to see them rotate series, like G4 does.

its not really cancelled, but its in agreement with the angst of this thread. i want/wish they'd cut Naruto from its future spot on maguzu/toonami and put it on Adult Swim, like they did with Inyuasha. first ive watched one piece ruined with horrendous dubbing and edits, and now i have to watch NAruto get butchered. it will be a very depressing time.

Yeah, they did show both of .hack//sign and .hack/dusk, but they are now long gone.

I need help on this one, but did CN ever show Ronin Warriors? I just can't remember them showing it on CN for some reason and its like my mind is blank on if they every did.

Thanks chachi, I haven't watched Adult Swim in ages and all of a sudden people are telling me that I've been missing out on this awesome show.

Yeah CN showed Ronin Warriors. Surprisingly, my Mom kinda liked the show. :wow!: It was played on Toonami in the afternoons. I think it was somewhere between 1998 and 2000.

Case Closed (or Detective Conan) and Lupin III are what comes to mind primarily.

Ah, okay. My mind has slip and all I can remember is when Ronin Warriors was on a channel that wasn't part of WB at the time.

Maybe, just maybe. When Japan stops showing Detective Conan on TV, then we could see it back here on the states. Sorry to bring this up again and all.

ROFL!!! Oh gosh, that's great...but it's nothing compared to my woe. ;)

I would do the exact same thing....life was greatly inspired/improved by Big O(yes..i'm obsessed). Even got my brother watching, which is a real feat.
So we BOTH were addicted to watching the new episodes. The night of ep25 came, and I forgot to turn the stupid VCR off! It never copied. Of course, I couldn't bring myself to watch 26 without 25 so I whining and complained and waited til they reran the series.

Weeks later(i think it was weeks..i just know it was a long torturous time. :P)
the episodes came around again. Guess whose vcr wasn't working right to copy it.......yeah, it was sad. *cries @ the memories*
Eventually I did cave and watch 26..but it was sadly confusing and i blamed the cursed 25th episode. LoL.

So yeah, I started watching Big O back in fall of 03(it was my first anime show..w00t!) and it took me from then until THIS WEEK to finally see episodes 25 and 26 together. And it's STILL confusing. hahaha....poor us.

yeah ok, done rambling now. I just found that post greatly amusing and felt the need to share my own story. LoL.

First the good news:Trigun will be back on Monday folks. :thumb:
That's right CN will begin reairing Trigun on Monday(early Tuesday morning)
at 1:00 a.m.Starting Monday the line-up for Mon.-Wed.AS anime will be:
12:30 a.m. Inuyasha
1:00 a.m. Trigun
1:30 a.m. Big O
So WR is cancelled for now. :(
As far as shows go the ones I never saw but wish they were still on include:
Sailor Moon,Outlaw Star,Evangelion and Tenchi.Especially Tenchi and Sailor
Moon. The latter because I'm watching W.I.T.C.H on Toon Disney and it has a lot of the same elements in it as Sailor Moon and the former because it's like my third fave all time anime series:Dual!except without the mecha and the whole parallel universe storyline.
I agree it be nice if they rotated series like AU but the only reason why
IMO AU does that is because they don't have as much anime to begin with and also they can only show them all in one specific time slot.
P.S.Samurai Jack fans look for Volume II of Star Wars Clone Wars. :)

Ah yeah, I forgot one.

Toonzone

If you look up at the top, they have schedules for all of the networks.

And btw: Rurouni Kenshin will be leaving Toonami on March 19th, making way for a full hour of Dragonball GT.

I would miss Wolf's Rain too, but I taped them all...^_^
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

I'm a little surprised they decided not to pick up more Case Closed/Detective Conan. I thought the ratings were pretty decent for it. I don't know if it was more appealing to a younger crowd than what AS was trying to shoot for or what the deal was.

I know AS/CN has the option on picking up the next 50 or so episodes. But I'm wondering, if the DVD sales go well and Funimation decides to translate and release episodes beyond what AS has the option on, if G4 or another network would be interested in picking them up. I would say that picking up new eps where AS dropped the ball would go a long way in establishing their credibility with the masses.

Not really good rating for it. Really, Kenshin was doom from the start, because some people really got mad that Kenshin was going to be put on toonami and not AS. There was some people that was not going to watch it, because it was going to be edited and then I knew some that was not even going to watch it because it was dub.

Why some people thought this way, I don't know when they watch other stuff on toonami at the time and so on.

I think the reason why CN didn't pick up anymore eps is, because how long Detective Conan is. Even if they put them on dvd, you will have to wait for Japan to end the show and that looks like its not going to happen and so they will be dvd after dvd to buy of Detective Conan.

It's the evil subtle advertising, forcing you to buy the DVD's of the series- all the DVD and subbing/dubbing companies have been blackmailing them for years because they found out about Cartoon Network's involvement in the election of Bill Cli- *BANG* Uhhhhh.... *thump*
